Update of primer, more lock pieces added —Dec. 25, 2017

Mostly my main bros Hokori, Dust Drinker and Magus of the Moon

Primer got cleaned up a bit

I'd recommend Divine Presence and Ensnaring Bridge, since both do little to hinder Alesha decks, but they're a massive pain to handle for decks that want to swing hard and heavy.

StopShot Divine Presence would be nice, but it doesn't fight against some of new banes of my playgroup.

Ensnaring Bridge is a stupid card that I'd love to have, but man that price tag!

I'm curious why necropotence with so many discard affects. Doesn't it kinda conflict with faithless looting sire od insanity oppression etc.

Mishraharad says... #8

Bighimmy Because Necropotence is that good.

Of course, you don't (often) go Faithless/SoI into it, but if you manage to have an active Necropotence out for a few turns, odds are that you are wining that game.

What's your taken on oppression my only idea was using a lot of mass discard tax along with everything else but that also would negate necropotence. But still us being the graveyard deck would have the highest card advantage with limited responses from everyone else especially with cards like eldon of rhetoric

Oppression is a card I adore and love, and tbh am trying to get back into the deck.

Necro isn't a must, it is just a way for me to keep parity with mass card draw engines of blue decks.

I love your take on the deck and have been working on many variants of alesha in fact I need to update my list again I've been changing and testing so much I do like the way your version plays out but was trying to adjust kinda what u have done in a different approach to deal with control decks and all the mass drawon power others in my meta run. I still haven't found the sweet spot I'm am looking for but I will say it takes usually 3 people ganging up on me to deal with me.this is the only reason I'm experimenting with for the most part your deck but adjusting it to try to keep everyone's hands empty. And with us being the graveyard deck that alone is another way to have card advantage over trying to make marduk keep up with drawing with blue decks. I guess my thoughts our strengths isn't drawing quite like blue but we can make what they draw useless with some of our own draw abilities.and still have access to our cards where they do not.

Option A: Make their draws useless and slow, like you said. If they have to pay 3 mana and take 2-4 damage per a Sol Ring, they won't combo as fast

Option B) Put in dedicated card draw hate, a la Spirit of the Labyrinth

I do not have him in my deck simply because I'm just trying to find what to cut for it.

We do not get it back with Alesha but ...

And of course, deny them resources. More drained they are, more of a winning fight that is for you.

We are not a deck that will be drowning in resources, but just like the Mardu or Mongolian horde that is what makes us strong. Just make sure that those civilization softies get dragged to your level.

On cards like spirit of the laberynth there is a few out there that isn't viable with aleshas ability but with cards like necromancy u can get them back via suntitan etc. Over and over.

Plus, Necropotence isn't drawing cards!

Something to consider would also be Retribution of the Meek, I think. Most of your guys dodge that wrath. Maybe Meta-dependent since it doesn't get rid of the small token armies but a cheap, often one sided wipe is useful.

HalasterBC I want to add Retribution, but it is a question of availability.

Nobody seems to be having it around. I'm currently trying to CardSphere for it. Hope it gets here soon?

Understandable. I wish you best of luck for that. =) Some cards can just be a pain in the ass to get a hold of. Things I fiddle around with in my own Alesha are Necromancy (I use that over Animate Dead since I can pull off some interesting shenenigans with the flash mechanic), Soltari Visionary (that may be meta-dependant for me since my playgroup loves their enchantments and I always like to pack some more hate just in case), Hide/Seek (the tuck gets rid of Purphoros and his merry buddies. Not as permanent as an Exile effect of course, but it gets the job done most of the time. The library extraction mode can grab a combo piece or generally unpleasant card, net you some life and lets you watch the offending deck in question too, last point not too relevant but especially if players or decks rotate more frequently a nice added bonus), Master Warcraft (I admit I like some instant combat fun from time to time), Tortured Existence, Goblin Bombardment and Fallen Ideal.
