That's a different story. The problem is that it requires you to have 2-3 copies of each in your sideboard. Otherwise you will not draw them both consistently enough to be worth running. That ends up requiring a lot of your sideboard and deck just to fight off infect. You'l have to drop cards that you need for other decks and will weaken the deck overall. Instead I would simply run Platinum Angel to protect you if you run into a burn deck, and simply burn or destroy the infect decks you fight. Tron can ramp fast enough that it should be able to blow past infect and between Pyroclasm and Dismember you should be fine. Other sideboard options against infect include Firespout and Beast Within.

@Jack-Frost: none taken. I agree with you that the angel is better. MAXIMUS89 I hope you see this lol. Maximus could you clarifie what you meant by "But if you use it to prevent you from losing from infect, then you lose when you destroy it, because you'd need to in order to win." (MAXIMUS89). Why would you have to kill your own Angel?? I may be missing something.

Sorry guys, brain fart! I misread the text on the angel; I thought it said that you can't lose the game or win it. Now I'm a fan of the angel now even though Emperion looks cooler...

Also, I'm new to this game so I don't know what a burn deck is

plus, can u pretend I had suggested Angel in the first place? lol :)

@Maximus: lol sure. Burn is a type of spell that is normally characterized by red. For example a burn spell is Lightning Bolt. So a burn deck (also called RDW [or Read deck wins]) is based around burn spells and some aggro creatures. Here is an example of a Burn deck. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/10-04-15-naya-burn/

PS. Jk burn deck is a deck with a bunch of insulting cards that you can yell BUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRN after each time you play a cardPPS. Jk about the PS.

I don't think you should use angel.

ok. sry. from the above comments it seems you wanted me too. is it a decent sb card or nah

ya sorry I guess the earlyer convo suggested you did. I was just trying to convince other people of it's worth (not in this deck). It is not very good in SB imo. Skite is better main or SB. It may be a good idea to run 1 Sundering Titan in the SB against 3 color decks.

Sorry about the confusion. Platinum Angel fits better in izzetfanatic's deck as it runs a bit slower than ours due to design and color choices. He sacrificed a bit of speed for control so it works great for him. In G/R tron we typically want everything we have to speed us up and overwhelm our opponents. I agree that if you have a bunch of Tri or Multi color decks in your meta you may want to run something like Sundering Titan.

@Jack-Frost: I agree. GR tron is just trying to get out fast big dudes. (I do have a ton of experience with GR tron but decided to change to mono U about a year ago because I like it's play style better.)

@Jack-Frost and car: might be worth it to check out this article its pretty good and reflects my thoughts on what the new tron (GR) build should look like.http://www.channelfireball.com/articles/modern-tron-tune-up/

IzzetFanatic Thanks a lot for the channelfireball article. It was really helpful and made a lot of good points. I updated my deck quite a bit and i'm going to be testing it this weekend. I'll see how it does but it should be much better. Thanks again!

car if you want to take a look I just updated my tron deck to better reflect the article. I agree with a lot of the changes (though I did put my own spin on them), and I even dropped Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. I'm a bit sad about that one because it was always amusing to see the sheer terror on peoples faces when I dropped that. Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger just doesn't have the same effect, though it is still great.

If you want to take a look why I updated the description of my deck which explains all of my choices

January 8, 2016 5:58 p.m.

IzzetFanatic says... #17

both newlamog AND kozi? no. Newlamog AND Emrakul. Maybe depending on personal preference.

IzzetFanatic says... #19

I can try

January 8, 2016 8:30 p.m.

IzzetFanatic says... #20

get rid of some number of Ugin. Both Kozi maybe a wurmcoil and you can drop some number of skites. if youd like

January 8, 2016 8:31 p.m.

car says... #21

what should should i add in then.

January 9, 2016 9:04 p.m.

car says... #22

I got a good idea. what about primeval titan? i can use it to get eye of ugin and more mana. that way i can beat down much harder each turn and remove the chance of getting a land. also, they are 8 dollars each so together they are less expensive than 1 spellskite

January 9, 2016 9:20 p.m.

IzzetFanatic says... #23

ya maybe. it seems like an ok idea. the fact that its double green makes it kinda hard to get but it might be an ok idea. playtest with it and see if you like it or not.

what do you guys think of void winnower and conduit?

January 9, 2016 9:58 p.m.

Jack-Frost says... #25

Void Winnower isn't worth it. by the time you get to 9 mana you should be dropping Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. It slows you down a turn when you should be finishing the game, and honestly doesn't do enough to be worth while.

I've tested out Conduit of Ruin and while it's pretty good it just isn't good enough. It may save me a turn, but at the cost of dropping something out of my deck and every card is essential. Go ahead and tell me what you think, but I ended up not using it.
