Rules update —March 24, 2015
The new update on commander allows a replacement effect for tuck effects that would place a commander into the library or into the hand; it could then be placed in the command zone instead. This makes some major changes to the format as cards like Hinder and Spell Crumple are much less useful now. In this light I will he updating this list in a week to reflect this change.

Why are most of the cards highly deck-specific in a list that is supposed to include format staples?
Why do you include bad cards in this list? Do you actually think people will leave you alone for 6 turns to make cards like Assemble the Legion remotely playable?
Why do you list 2-card combos as format staples when one card is horrible without the other? Do you not understand probabilities in a singleton format?

Woah woah woah, I don't think this list was MEANT to be a format staple summary. Rather, I see this as "Cards players should think of as famous/infamous EDH-played cards".

That doesn't explain why Sword of the Meek, Assemble the Legion, Divinity of Pride, Angelic Overseer, Hero of Bladehold, Khalni Hydra, Endless Ranks of the Dead, Basalt Monolith, or Righteous War are on the list.
