No more red...for now —Feb. 11, 2017

Decided tonight that red wasn't doing it for me, so going back to the basic selesnya package with a heavy creature main board count. Let the play-testing begin!

Thank you for that! I've been working on the best combinations to keep it's consistency. I'm looking forward to the new spoilers for the upcoming set. :)

While it may not make flavor sense, I would definitely play 2-3 Brimaz, King of Oreskos because he is so powerful. Also, have you considered Eternal Witness? While not having a huge body, it synergizes as a human and gives you value. It's especially great off of a Collected Company, though you might only want to run 1-2. Your weakest card, in my opinion, is Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip, as it doesn't synergize much with anything else.

Regarding your sideboard, I don't think Melira is nearly as good against Infect as either Sudden Shock or Deflecting Palm. She can help, but she is also very narrow and the other cards can be boarded in in more matchups, like Death's Shadow Zoo. The other sideboard card I don't really like is Heroic Intervention. Most of the time, I would rather have Brave the Elements, as it is more versatile and it hits most of your creatures while being only one mana.

This is a really cool deck! +1 from me!

It's time for a trip to value town! I love what red brings to this deck. Mr. Garrison and the Huntmaster are both sweet, and they seem to work very well in here. Kari Zev, Skyship Raider is a cool card, and I imagine that it will be useful for Modern. However, I'm not absolutely sure that it will work in your deck because the monkey token won't trigger Thalia's Lieutenant or Champion of the Parish. She would definitely be worthwhile if she were a soldier, but I think that her typing as Pirate might be a deal-breaker for you. The other cards in your deck all have really cool synergy, but she looks out-of-place. At least 1 should come out for another Brimaz.

Turn8ScornfulEgotist: Thank you for the commentary on my deck. I have thought of Eternal Witness and she has been in the deck for a period of time. I think now is a good time to add her back in as a one of (due to the GG in the cost). Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip has been something I have tested and hasn't been the easiest card to work with, even it may be a human, so E-wit will be his replacement. As for the SB, I'm always looking for suggestions because I don't get to play often so I rarely do sideboard, but would like to have a good setup when the time does come.

Primusfan42: the rational for Kari Zev, Skyship Raider has little to do with the monkey as much the fact that she is a human with evasion that has a trigger that has to be dealt with long term. She will get bigger with the help of Thalia's Lieutenant and Mayor of Avabruck  Flip. Menace is a powerful tool in a situation Modern bring you and so I want to test her out. Nonetheless, thank you for the upvote and commentary!
