Play creatures and them untill the life of your opponent is gone.

The main goal of the deck Is to play around Hardened Scales or Ozolith, the Shattered Spire and the synergies of elves like Bramblewood Paragon and Joraga Warcaller to put on the Battlefield huge elves . Enter the Unknown , Thirsting Roots , Llanowar Reborn and Pollenbright Druid help the deck to achieve the main strategy : the First card Is good for manipulate the top card of the deck , to drop a second Land and/or to give a +1+1 counters. Thirsting roots Is mainly used for the proliferate but the Land tutor part can be useful. Llanowar reborn Is another "free" counter and last pollenbright druid Is ,ideally , Just a worse thirsting roots that i still cant find a way to replace. While the hardened scale + joraga combo allows for huge damage the deck can be played also as a kinda stompy elves with card:wrenn's run vanquisher and Talara's Battalion , with Pelt Collector gaining advantage from all Two of the strategies.

Barbarian_Sun_Pope hi , thank you for the comment. Elvish warmaster is a card I want to try but maybe Dwynen's Elite could be better for its faster token generation in this deck. The idea was to have around turn 3/4 one big guy or a joraga warcaller on steroid.

Flavuss warmaster teamed with dwynen pumps out tokens at break neck speed. DEFINETLY worth playing both.

March 3, 2023 11:01 a.m.

I concur with SefTheReject, I would try both.

To lean in harder to the Elf Warriors and creating more explosive starts with some Prismatic Vistas, Narnam Renegade and Greenwheel Liberator seem perfect.

March 9, 2023 11:02 a.m.

Vista would be perfect in this shell.

March 9, 2023 11:57 a.m.

Thank you guys and forgive my ignorance , how the prismatic vista should fit in here ? To thin the deck ?

March 9, 2023 12:36 p.m.

Flavuss yes, fetches are to thin out your deck and keep the gas coming. Took me a LONG time to come around on fetches, but they really do help make a build competitive. You could also opt for Verdant Catacombs, Wooded Foothills or Windswept Heath as your fetch depending on cost.

some amount of horizon draw lands would be nice imo

June 12, 2023 8:12 p.m.

Metropolis39 thank you , these lands would be a huge benefit for the deck ( something tò draw the right card Is what its missing ,so more draw Power in Lands slot Is very nice) but in my experience One of the advantage of this deck when im playing vs modern meta decks Is not having to sacrifice Life points to use cards ( no fetch , no shock mainly) . Btw i'll definitely try those lands .

adding at least one Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth will help with the pain

wallisface I made a few tweaks to make the list more +1+1 counters centered , what do you think now? I thought as the finisher as Joraga Warcaller + Bioshift (hopefully with at least one hardened scales) to boost all the board.

Growth-Chamber Guardian adapt ability can be decent but the thing was to drop it after Bramblewood Paragon to thin the deck a little bit and to have another fast creature in hand. Do you think its wrong? depending on the board Pelt Collector can reach 5/5 , i dont think thats too bad for a 1 drop that can be used to move the counters on Joraga Warcaller no? feel free to correct me. BotaNickill Thank you i'll give it a look :)

I’m still not really convinced that Hardened Scales fits in here, reasoning being:

  • you’re deck doesn’t look like its going to have any major issue with the power on-board

  • you deck wants to win the game quickly, because if the opponent can stabilise and kill your boardstate (or just out-race you) you’re in trouble. I don’t think any of your decks “quickest ways to deal 20 damage” involve the cards that just put counters on things, or Hardened Scales.

  • your lose condition is someone killing off your important creatures, which isn’t hard to do. By having cards that just add counters, you reduce the number of actual threats in the deck.

  • you’ve already restricted yourself to elves AND warriors, which gives you a super-narrow window for creature choices. I think this makes it significantly harder for scales, or the other cards that add counters, to be viable.

Again, i’d opt for more aggression. Metallic Mimic is probably a lot more useful for you than Hardened Scales, and outside of that i wouldn’t personally be focusing too heavily on counters.

We can see from existing stompy decks that they have almost all of their cards apply +1/+1 counters, but don’t bother with scales. Generally speaking, scales decks only work where you can abuse the counters for a reliable turn 3-or-4 kill.

wallisface goodmorning , I was trying to build an aggro deck that could somewhat also defend the creatures or Just replace effectively the low cost creatures: the "win condition" here on turn 4 Is to drop a busted joraga warcaller with hardened scales or with Just extra counters tò It. For now In trying elves and Warrior for joraga + bramblewood paragon , i know its missing something creature wise , like Wren's Run Vanquisher feels like a filling that could've been a Better creature for the strategy , its Just that i cant find this creature ahah i could try to Just add Metallic Mimic or to try another build with . Metallic Mimic instead of bramblewood

By the way thank you for your thoughts , i Always appreciate

Flavuss no worries, glad to help! Feel free to tag me in any future brew you’re wanting feedback for.

One note on Joraga Warcaller, is he’s a very glass-cannon card. If your opponent is holding up any mana as you attack, they can just kill/bounce him before blocks and suddenly you’re army is caught with their pants down. Not to say he isn’t incredably powerful, just that he requires some very careful piloting. He works well alongside any creature that can redirect targets (Spellskite), or any creature that can grant him protection (Giver of Runes, Selfless Savior, Selfless Spirit).

Looks like a fun deck, have you thought about or tried Sylvan Anthem? Fits the +1/+1 theme of the build.

February 16, 2023 2:37 p.m.

SefTheReject Thank you for your comment :) Yes i'm trying it and its surely a good card. But i'd prefer a card with +1 +1 counters to put more value on the hardened scale or to drop a bigger joraga. The deck is still under construction so i'll gladly take any advice.

February 17, 2023 9:35 a.m.

Flavuss I'll take a look and see what I can come up with, nothing comes to mind at the moment.

February 17, 2023 11:07 a.m.

Immaculate Magistrate? The synergy with Joraga Warcaller is hopefully obvious. =)

February 24, 2023 10:34 a.m.

slvstrChung hi ' i've already considered that card but in this list It feels quite slow . Thank you btw i appreciate

February 24, 2023 11:54 a.m.

If you're more focused on the Bramblewood Paragon, have you considered Elvish Warmaster? He's cheap, a warrior himself, makes token warriors, you have enough elves to justify playing him, and multiple copies will each trigger separately. Hope this helps.

March 2, 2023 12:24 p.m.

Hello! I'm working on an elf deck right now as well. +1 from me! I'm testing it with a playset of Gala Greeters it pairs well with the Hardened Scales. Good luck to you!

February 1, 2023 1:18 p.m.

BotaNickill Hello! then i'm waiting to see your deck and take inspiration :P By the way I thought of Bramblewood Paragon as the main +1+1 engine and it works only for warriors. Gala Greeters would've been a perfect addiction but sadly its a druid . Maybe I can try it out instead of Wren's Run Vanquisher because the card is really good for this idea... What do you think?

February 1, 2023 1:51 p.m.

Imo your list would be better without Hardened Scales - the only card that utilises it well currently is Bramblewood Paragon (Pelt Collector just gets out of range of gaining more counters quicker, Growth-Chamber Guardian being a 5/5 instead of a 4/4 is meh, and the extra counter on Joraga Warcaller feels negligible).

I think, because you’re a stompy deck, you’d probably benefit from ditching Hardened Scales and Bioshift in favour of more stompy/aggressive cards, like Rancor and maybe Aspect of Hydra, or some Elf mana-dorks to help you spew your hand out onto the board quicker

Flavuss here is the link to my current Elf Deck List. I am not running counters or Hardened Scales in this deck because most of the elves give each other +1 +1 but not counters. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/standard-elfball-riot/ I also have a Selesnya "Sisters" deck though and that one does run Hardened Scales.
Check it out if you have a minute? https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/legacy-of-the-soul-sistas/
