In today's story, we visit the 3rd faction on this plane: The Shapers, the Merfolk tribe

While there aren't any mono red merfolk, there are Jori En, Ruin Diver and Razorfin Hunter sporting some .

I think it's cool that as Wizards reveals more of the story, they reveal more of the Ixalan map.

SO WHAT YOU'RE SAYING Ryjo AND CastleSiege IS: THERE'S A CHANCE? OF GRUUL MERFOLK, I MEAN. BECAUSE I'M IN!

With Gruul, there's always a chance.

Every story thus far in this block has mentioned the Immortal Sun and the lost city of Orazca, so I believe that is now safe to presume that both of them shall be integral to the plot of this block; the only question is how they shall be important.

It also was fairly obvious the Kumena would betray the other merfolk, but I wonder if he shall join forces with either Vraska or Angrath, or if he shall be on his own side.

Also, I am very much wondering about the identity of the associate of Bolas who is supposed to meet Vraska: are they someone who has previously been seen, or a completely new character?

DemonDragonJ, I think Kumena has the same goal as the rest of the merfolk (protect the immortal sun) but he has a different way of doing so. My guess is that he'll set out on his own to find it, then use it to establish authority over all the other tribes, and get something from the Merfolk who didn't believe in his vision.

Can someone please explain the punch at the end? Was it meant to kill (perhaps as his quote before suggests) or just to stun or what?

Nonono, the punch is supposed to show that no matter what plane you are on, there is always a Bearpunch

Lol DuTogira!Pretty sure that punch was to kill. That Kumena gonna cause trouble for Vraska, and as a side effect, for Bolas.

I think we are over-looking how Vraska IS working for Bolas, haveing Jace in her crew changes nothing. She may be a nice character, but she's still a Badguy.

This brings us to the question, when is Kumena gonna die? Because if he finds the Imortal Sun, he will try to kill all the other searchers for it.

Kumena v kopala is gonna be a thing, and I don't think tishana dies. I think she blacks out, but I would put money on kopala showing up just in time to save her (it would be very much in flavor with his card).
As far as vraska goes, she is finding treasure for bolas sure, but she doesn't know much about him and isn't in this as his slave. She's in it to become queen of ravnica and liberate the oppressed gorgon peoples. I don't think she knows anything about the conflict between jace and bolas. Her beef with him was that he was guildpact, and thus stood in her way of ruling ravnica.
As long as Jace doesn't remember his past, she doesn't have any issues with him. As far as bolas is concerned, he's just another one of vraska's clients, no more and no less.
