McSwagglepants, maybe make the equipment common, but only have a good effect if equipped to a God?Ex. Equipped creature gets +1/+1. If equipped creature is a God, it gets +3/+4 and flying and First strike instead Equip Something like this would make them not great, but playable at common, and synergize well with the Gods

If they go into a Jund goblins kinda shell (which is a possibility no ones' really said, but could definitely happen), then they could add dragon synergies for the late game, like in Shards. Personally, I'd LOVE that deck. For elementals, which I'd also be excited for and is less supported leading maybe to the decision of that's what Wizards will do, has some ties to both Naya and Temur, though I'd think closer to Temur That's at least what I hope they will do

Said on Ixalan is the ......

Skulloelegy, not to sound mean or anything, but we already have snake humans; their called naga(if that's what they're called on the plane). Be great to see them in 2 consecutive sets, maybe with actual synergies, like lords? Really hope this is a new plane based on Central American tribes, not just an add on to another plane.

I like the idea of underpowered gods with equipment to make them better. Maybe give them a pay-and-tap activated ability rather than a tutor upon entry, given the problems it could introduce. I'd like them all to be multicolored, as Theros had both multicolored and monocolored, and Amonkhet is probably only monocolored. Also, unrelated, the sweeper of the set should totally be similar to, but, sticking to Wizards' idea of not copying from outside sources, not exactly called Ragnark

Said on Staples?...

Hi! I've been playing Commander for a little while now, and have started to create my own decks. I keep hearing about "staples" for each color. Can someone please tell me what they are? Thanks!(I already know about sol ring, lightning greaves, and, in white, Knight of the White Orchid)

DemonDragonJ, true, but they are exploring those storylines and exhausting them for future use, rather than spreading the large threats to the story out. I do agree that if defeated, the Phyrexians would return through Yawgmoth's (hope I spelled that right) influence, maybe on a different race of characters

U forget, Sorin is unable to planeswalk, because he is stuck inside of Markov Manor, with the pain of stone biting into his internal organs causing him to lose focus on most anything else. This includes the effort to planeswalk away from the stone, to help the alliance. It'll probably be a while before we see him again (which is a shame. He brings a lot of good storylines through his connection to other planeswalkers, regardless if you like him or not). Plus, he'd potentially stay out of it, or abandon the cause soon after, given his selfish and self-serving nature. An interesting option for Bolas would be Ashiok, from Theros. We know he's a villain, but I don't think we know much more about him (unless I'm missing something). Wizards could then give him a personality that fits into Bolas's schemes.

Wizards should definitely revisit New Phyrexia or what the Phyrexians have been doing, just not for a while. Since they took over an artifact-based plane, and are, I believe, also partly artifact based, Wizards should wait till Kaladesh is well behind us, so people don't get burned out on the theme(especially when it's a major modern deck in affinity). In my opinion, they should build up to it, and spend enough time to make it amazing, without being completely broken. Also, Wizards shouldn't get rid of all of their huge bad guys, after killing off the Eldrazi, and the GW going after Bolas

I think that Deam Worthy and Cast Out are the most impactful spells, being good removal and flexible (accounting for rarity). However, black seems the best initial color, as it appears to fit into most strategies with other colors (zombies with white, cycling with blue, discard with red, -1/-1 counters in green)
