Pauper edh is a thing. Kiora's follower is pretty sweet. Cool combos using only common cards? It's Brew time people!!!!!!!!

Ah, just did my research. Apparently Pauper commander can utilize uncommons a commanders. Huh, kinda blurs the line between Pauper and Peasant but works for me. Seems like a fun format.
Shame you have to be in-colours, you could break Kiora's Follower with Freed from the Real to untap a land to use it to untap itself and gain infinite life off Judge of Currents .
Hmmm, what commander would I go with that wasn't the overly-busted Deadly Recluse . Carnage Gladiator comes to mind.

Uncommon and common can be your general. Only common in deck.

Apart from Freed from the Real , you could use Stonybrook Angler for a tap cycle between that and your general which costs actual mana and can't go infinite, but still might be funny if you can find a third combo piece and mean you don't have to rely on Freed from the Real .

Sounds fun. I like tweaking around with Copperhorn Scout the power is out there.

The problem is getting worthwhile commons to untap. Sphinx's Disciple is a good start but you'll want more.
If you want to rely on cards that untap themselves with no input from the general (just in case), Simic Ragworm and Horseshoe Crab work well. Tidewater Minion is another one like Kiora's Follower .

Trying to work out whether I want to start off with Spellheart Chimera , Duskmantle Guildmage or Nyx Weaver as a krunk Pauper Commander.

Get lots of tap artifacts, though Manalith is really the only one that comes to my mind. Also Betrayal is crazy good.

Kiora's Follower + Freed from the Real + Simic Growth Chamber = infinite green mana.

Unless I misunderstand how Pauper Commander works, I think you meant "Peasant". Pauper is commons only yes, it's just that Kiora's Follower is UNCOMMON, so you may mean peasant (common and uncommon cards). Unless you did mean pauper and just missed the rarity on the merfolk fella.
