Slide Sliver

This was another idea that was rattling around in my head - a Sliver inspired by both Brago, King Eternal and Astral Slide , I present:

Slide Sliver

I have no idea if this would be a good Sliver to begin with, but I figured there would be some interesting card combinations other people could come up with. Thoughts?

Hmm, could become a problem with Quick Sliver and Aether Vial because nobody likes have less lands temorarily. Does this also work with Sundial of the Infinite ? I can't tell if it's a delayed triggered ability or not.

Flooremoji: Quick Sliver isn't modern legal and i don't think "slide sliver" would be good enough for legacy.

Slide sliver here would only be good with slivers that had ETB effects, of which i can only find 5 in the whole game. and of those 5, the only one thats any good is Harmonic Sliver . harmonic and slide could loop each other to ensure a player can destroy another artifact/enchantment each turn, but that combo isn't worth the deck space. sideboard space is already too restricted.

Honestly this seems like a really interesting sliver idea. Although there aren't many slivers that have etbs, I could see this being in edh decks mostly. Maybe format it like Skybind so that you can avoid the Harmonic Sliver ability though, for balancing reasons.

Hey all, thanks for the comments.

  • Flooremoji, I'm not sure if Sundial of the Infinite works with this hypothetical sliver, but I don't see why it wouldn't. When activated, Sundial does have you bypass the end step. I designed this sliver to essentially reach out beyond the typical design space for slivers towards a Derevi Creature toolkit Archetype.

  • Ugin420, i'm considering this sliver for all formats. IF this were to get printed, then it wouldn't be by itself -that's for sure. Quick Sliver could come right alongside it. Question for you - what hypothetical ETB slivers should be printed to help this hypothetical Sliver?

  • dbpunk, In my opinion Skybind is just a bad card, and I wouldn't want to water down this hypothetical sliver's design. It's meant to lend itself to more than just slivers. The Harmonic Sliver ability has it's own draw backs anyway - as it doesn't have a "may" clause and could destroy it's controller's enchantments and artifacts.

Very nice!! But does this create a loop if applied to your own slivers? Would it trigger again when they enter on the blink back?
