Top10Best - Top 10 Modern Sideboard Staples

Modern*

Top10Best

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first top 10 countdown. Today I'm doing the top 10 staples for modern sideboards! Please keep in mind that these are just what I happen to think are the top ten.

1: Spellskite

When this guy gets his share of the battlefield, the opponent is usually screwed. I say this because the most used decks in modern rely on effects that use "target". For example, burn of infect is RUINED by this card. Also, G/W hexproof is sometimes played, and once again, Spellskite takes control!

2: Leyline of Sanctity

Burn? Too bad! Storm? Too bad! Anything that uses something that targets you? Too bad!! This little a*shole takes care of almost ANYTHING that is played in burn of storm. Of course, it also destorys many other decks, but I don't have the time to list them. And finally, they reprinted this bad boy and now at the low price of $17!

3: Ancient Grudge

Because nobody likes enchantments or artifacts. #one/twodropsforlyfe

4: Torpor Orb / Rakdos Charm

Takes care of twins and podless pod! And they are both simply two mana, which is amazing. But also, think about it: These two cards literally RUIN twins. There is NO POSSIBLE REACTION THAT CAN STOP THEM FROM TRIGGERING IN TWINS' DECKS. (except counters ;3)

5: Dismember

Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, REALLY, overpowered, any-color, instant-speed, very-annoying, removal.

6: Spell Pierce

"To kill a mockingbird" (mockingbird=counter/reaction). ONE DROP COUNTER! SO FUN. The reason this was picked over Mana Tithe is because it is for two mana counter, when one is usually left open. Personally, I would run both sideboard, so that you can kind of switch every now and then.

7: Beast Within

Honestly, this card is one of the only green removal ever. I have looked everywhere, and only found about two others. Sooooo, GREENCONTROLFTW!!!!

8: Destructive Revelry

Just a fun card for G/R burn decks. Simple, but strong. My type of card. ;)

9: Blood Moon

Most of you guys probably wonder why this is ranked the worst of them. This is why: YOU LOSE YOU'RE FREAKIN' LANDS. But, if you are playing mono red, forget what I just said. An amazing matchup for control. :D
