Awesome trade. —Nov. 4, 2012

I was able to trade my Jace, the Mind Sculptor for a Tropical Island so in his spot is Tamiyo for tapping down aggro and then drawing cards off them.

What is your budget?

When you say you're aiming for a combo-control deck, do you mean infinite combos or just strong interactions? You could certainly do either, but some players prefer not to use infinites.

The answer to the budget is that I won't be buying everything at once so it has no limit. There will be a few things that aren't as good in the mean time though.

I don't have anything against infinite combos, I just don't like to depend on them for the win.

Fair enough. Infinite combos are actually quite reliable, though.

I would advise you to do the same kind of thing I did with Dominus - Dreamcrusher Edition, which is to say run 3 duals, 3 shocks, and 9 fetches. It makes for a very stable, consistent mana base and still leaves room for utility lands.

Thran Dynamo could replace Darksteel Ingot .

Yeah, I'm trying to get a hold of them but the shop here has well... shit in the way of cards. The only person to trade for them is also a collector and won't trade.

I think that in my update I sum up most of the cards that need to come out, I just don't have the card knowledge to replace them.

I see by your addition of Sol Ring that you don't play french rules so that must mean that tucking is valid for you. On that note have you ever considered Void Stalker ? I really like him as a passive FU to anyone without a hexproof general and if you topdeck him after you have Riku of Two Reflections out you can copy him for two tucks. Really good general removal IMO.

Interesting, but I find that tucking on average doesn't really stop competitive decks. They run enough ways to either get him back or they don't need them for the win. I have Hinder and recursion engines if I need it but I'll pick a Void Stalker up and test it out. Thanks for the info.

Since you already have Arcanis the Omnipotent in the deck why not add Mind over Matter for an infinite draw combo as well?

Because Arcanis is most likely coming out of the deck, but if I decide to keep him I'll try to find something to take out for Mind over Matter.
