Slight tuning —April 10, 2015
Changes have been made to the list to better support the aggro avenue of victory this deck has to offer as well as offer up more pod utility. Also Land base improvements!
Cards Added:
Harmonic Sliver - I needed some more low curve artifact/enchantment removal for my creature tutors
Crucible of Worlds - I feel like nestling this into the list now to get used to playing around it. Between Strip Mine , Horizon Canopy , The set of fetch lands and the amount of land destroy in my meta will justify its slot easily.
Wheel of Fortune - This is replacing idyllic tutor as i feel it better enables the aggro play style this deck can choose to take and I feel like idyllic tutor simply didnt have the versatility in targets I often needed it to have, but mass hand disruption has proven really good in the few games I've played with it.
Horizon Canopy And a Set of filter lands in my colors have been added to the list.
Cards Cut:
Dauntless Escort - Simply speaking I love this card. I think its phenomenal at protecting against classic style board wipes but sadly my meta has evolved into more aggressive creature destroying methods and more versatile wraths to play around the host of anti-wrath measures this and the other creature heavy decks have taken.
Baneslayer Angel - This was a tough cut but I feel my 5 drops already had a more suitable beatdown target for pod in the shape of Archangel of Thune and Crucible of Worlds is a card with too much potential value to ignore.
Idyllic Tutor - The main combo route for this deck is more focused on Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker as it is easier and less costly to perform so the need for enchantment retrieval has shifted into a greater need for over all deck filtering and draw to support the aggro route of this deck while still maintaining equal possibility for enchantment and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker combo
I cut my set of the scry temples from the deck to make way for filters as their top deck manipulation isnt very good with top and sylvan here. Horizon Canopy took a plains slot. The next big advance for the land base here would be getting a set of Original dual lands and getting myself a Gaea's Cradle.
