post-grind results —Dec. 5, 2020
Dedicated these last few days to grinding out a lot of cEDH. I never once got a nutty opener like turn 2 Smokestack & Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools, but the solid core engine, interaction & stax pieces have lead me to some strong wins.
Some stats:
- Reality Scramble - Countered 4/4 times I've played it. I wish I was joking.
- Divergent Transformations - Won 3/3 games it was played
- Shifting Shadow - Countered 3/3 times I've played it
- Transmogrify - Haven't played it yet, mostly due to the lack of drawing it -- one game I drew it towards the end but I already had another play in mind. Definitely the weakest of the polymorphs, but I'm not sure if that warrants it's removal
- Smokestack - Won 1/1 games it was played, haven't drawn it much...
- Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools - Removed 1 time total, overall value provided = too much to count
- Necropotence - I've successfully chickened out of dumping 30+ life into this on dire occasions, lost 2/2 times I've done so
- Jokulhaups - Countered 2x, both games were won, resolved 1x, game was lost -- The game it resolved I played quite poorly tbh and missed my opportunity
- Devastating Dreams - Resolved 3x, countered once, always a powerhouse due to low mana cost. Most underrated card in the deck, hands-down
- Death Match - Tends to come out too late to do anything. Played it 2 games and haven't gotten any value out of it yet unfortunately. Deck does not struggle with creature removal, and due to the staxxy nature of the deck folks are less akin to playing Opposition Agent, Aven Mindcensor, Hullbreacher, Notion Thief -- will likely remove this, albeit begrudgingly
- Karn, the Great Creator - overperforming, as expected -- makes me wonder if Null Rod is worth it.. probably not. Artifact removal is important for sure though, Meltdown has been on my interest list and i'll likely replace Death Match with it.
