Added Sideboard, currently refining and boarding —Aug. 28, 2018

Sideboard is suited against a variety of Legacy decks, mostly black ones though. Still working on boarding in/out, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

hungry000 Thanks for the suggestions! I'm working on updating the mana base, I really appreciate the Legacy land ideas. I may add Force of Will; but if all the cards in your hand are black from Painter's Servant, would this still allow me to exile a blue card because (an island, for instance) can be both blue and black at the same time?

I'm thinking of posting this on the Rules Q&A, but wanted to hear if you knew the answer first.

Painter's Servant makes cards the chosen color in addition to their other colors. Therefore lands in your hand, being colorless, would now be black. So, the card you exile from your hand must then be naturally blue.

I'm pretty sure that's true. Though technically you could use a second Painter's Servant and just make everything blue, also. (Though I'd bet that is far too slow a play for Legacy.)

Sorry, went to a camp for a while so I didn't have any internet access. Gattison explained this already, but as long as the card in your hand was blue before you paint it black with Painter's Servant, you can pitch it to Force of Will, as servant says "in addition to". Cabal Therapy and Thoughtseize would be better protection spells for your deck though, you only have 6 other blue cards in your deck (lands are colorless). Of course, u can name blue with Painter's Servant, but it's a bad idea to use a combo piece to protect your combo like that.

Btw, what's your plan for mono black decks?

hungry000 I will be updating this deck soon, I'm just really busy.

About the question of mono-black decks - The Grindstone kill still works, but our opponent will likely have removal. Thus, the inclusion of Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon will hopefully disrupt our opponent, but frankly, if they're playing mono black then the mana tax is still annoying and even if they only have basic swamps we can still use Grindstone. Can you give me some mono black Legacy decks which are currently in the format, and I will test against them? Thanks.

Gattison Thank you for the clarification.
eyes2sky Thank you for the positive comment!

I see. I don't really know anything about legacy decks, so the amount of help I can give you is limited to the amount of skill I have in using google. I know that Reanimator is a thing, and I also know that the best Storm deck is Mono B and uses moxes which helps it get B even without any basic lands. There are also mono B Control and devotion lists, and there's a neat deck I saw a while back that uses Lake of the Dead to play big things.
