Sideboard Help —Jan. 5, 2015

Did some playtesting with the new list... it works surprisingly well. Definitely not top tier, but has been doing much better than expected.

Looking for sideboard help now as, well, there is none. I have no idea how to sideboard with combo decks as they are so fragile, but my starting point is just changing up the combo. I win game one with Immortal Coil? Replace them all with Abyssal Persecutor in game two to keep my opponent off balance. Anything similar to that or decks that this is weak against where I need some extra help is most welcome!

Very cool deck Idea.

Thanks GoofyFoot! Any suggestion to make it tighter?

well, I'd assume the deck is budget-ish, but I personally would try and revamp your protection package. most of those spells for modern are too slow or not efficient enough for what they cost. things like Spell Pierce, Remand and Dismember are much better. Voyage's End would be better off switched for Vapor Snag. Your sideboard also seems a little awkward but I don't really know what to suggest for that. Diabolic Tutor is also too slow, but there isn't much available in modern that is faster. Maybe Fabricate?

beyond that, I would suggest something along the lines of either an alternate win con Abyssal Persecutor is decent, but If there is another available combo like it in modern, I'd consider adding a piece or two of it. maybe something like Confusion in the Ranks+Norin the Wary?

I have no intention of keeping it budget, so more expensive cards aren't too much of an issue. Granted I'm not trying to spend $500 plus but under that is fine. Thanks for the suggestions, I will definitely be changing stuff around.

As to the sideboard, I feel like once the combo is discovered I need to completely change the deck around to keep the element of surprise up. So I'm leaning towards hand disruption but it's tough to settle on the right cards -_-
