Welcome back to Effin’ M!

On our second voyage into the depths of Cockatrice, we encounter a slew of random opponents piloting such rogue decks as Results May Vary (Unexpected Results combo) and Grixis Delver. Can Zandl's Junk Not-Rites deliver and continue its reign of terror?

As many of you requested, I’ve taken the liberty of breaking up the big video into smaller, more easily watched snippets. Let me know if this is better and/or what else I can do.

Pay no mind to my minor rants regarding aggro decks. I really hate losing to aggressive decks, especially when it just comes down to who drew better cards and not the skill of the players in any way.

If you’d like to play against me for this series in the future, you obviously first need Cockatrice and the most recent card update. I can’t tell you where to find the original Cockatrice download (and I’d be particularly wary of saying it anywhere on TappedOut, in fact), but I can give you the correct server information via email. If you already have Cockatrice downloaded but don’t know what to change, hit me up at [email protected].

Be on the lookout for the next Effin’ M by the weekend. As I noted toward the end of the last video, I’m rebuilding my Misthollow Griffin control deck to see if it’s still relevant in Standard. Also, the second round’s results of the pauper challenge should be up rather soon.

Until then, happy tapping!

If the videos skip around or don't load, just refresh the page. YouTube has been pretty screwy lately.

match 3 game 2 you activated Vault of the Archangel with no white mana you only had 3 B/G dual lands and a Cavern of Souls calling human.

Good catch. I think I just saw the color of Cavern and assumed it was White. Also, I casted Sin Collector with it, so I may have assumed I had the mana when I realized I had a White card on the board.

I just thought it was weird how you knew you couldn't flashback Unburial Rites because you didn't have white but didn't give a second thought to the vault activation.

I'm very confused. I wanted to get cockatrice today, but the website said that it was temporarily shut down due to a conflict with Hasbro, and that was at least two months ago according to a thread about the shutdown. How can you still play it?

zandl, when you remove an Angel of Serenity in response to its triggers, the controller of the angel has the option to not exile each individual card. The opponet targets the cards, but the may clause is only decided upon resolution of the abilities; in the first game of the first match, your opponent could have chosen to exile both of your Centaur Healer s (but only one since you were hiding one behind your own angel) but chosen to not exile his Borborygmos Enraged .

There were a few MTG Q&As on this, if I recall correctly.

@Goody: Good call. A ton of people have been playing that card incorrectly, then. Everyone I know (including myself) has used it under the pretense that killing it in response to triggers means the shit gets exiled.

I suppose killing an AoS in response to the EtB trigger is still good, though, as it still effectively turns it off.

Either way, he put Borborygmos back into his hand, meaning he intended to keep it exiled with the Angel.

For reasons unknown, I always assumed you were like a 40 year old man lol. This video (these videos) proved me wrong.

Great videos, I must say. Your take on the order of dropping lands in the first video was very interesting.
