Equipment on Planeswalkers?
Asked by MisterMaus 11 years ago
Is this possible?
For example, could I equip Illusionist's Bracers on Liliana Vess ?

You can only equip a creature, so you can only equip a Planeswalker if it is also a creature. Gideon Jura
and Gideon, Champion of Justice
are good examples of this happening.
Problem is, the equipment falls right back off as soon as its partner is no longer a creature. You will have to re-equip it to use it again the next turn.

Equip only works on creatures. Planeswalkers aren't creatures, and can't be equipped. (Except for effects like Gideon's where he can become a creature.)

To be specific, you will have to activate the +0 of Gideon in order to make him a creature for the turn in order to equip him. Since he stops being a creature at the end of the turn, the equipment will fall off and you will have to repeat the process if you wish to re-equip him.

to get a plainswalker to permentently become a creatue (and therefore Illusionist's Bracers able) just use Mycosynth Lattice and Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas 's -1

There is some way to make any permanent into creature. but usually involve several cards that are off standard rotation:
Liquimetal Coating + Karn, Silver Golem
Enchanted Evening + Opalescence (careful it will destroy everybody's land unless they have an anthem ie: Glorious Anthem )
