WW Quest: Student of Warfare or Accorder Paladin

I just wanted to know which is better to put in my deck: looking-for-something? I'm still figuring out should I replace Accorder Paladin with Student of Warfare ? Accorder Paladin gives me another win-con which is Battlecry but Student of Warfare gives me a cc1 leveler with First Strike and Double Strike.

I would say that I agree with Epochalyptik...
In my experince, I have found that the Student of Warfare will do you better, as I have found decks I have played against that use Accorder Paladin a bit lacking, but again it all depends on your play style...

Thanks for your ideas..I would rather use Student of Warfare instead of the Accorder Paladin .

i agree with the people above.
However, i think you should cut the Kor Duelist s for your Accorder Paladin s. The duelists will do next to nothing unless you have an Argentum Armor out, by which time you will probably want to stick it to a flyer to get the damage through.
I've noticed in my deck (that's not on this site) that i really like the battlecry in situations where your quest gets removed or just can't seem to draw one. And to further that cause, i would replace the Kor Outfitter s and 1 Stoneforge Mystic or another dude with 4x Signal Pest .
It's got evasion so it's another good target for your equipment,
it's 1 cmc so it's good for your quest and
it's an artifact so it helps the Glint Hawk s greatly (i've noticed that the hawks sometimes sit in my hand for a whole game doing nothing due to a lack of artifacts.)
Hope this helps you! (consider throwing in 2-3 Contested War Zone s too!)

@jessetaverne Thanks for your suggestion..I would definitely heed your advice.. :D but how many Kor Duelist s and Accorder Paladin s should i have?

no duelists and 4 paladins IMO, though you will have to figure out what you like best. see how many times you would have preferred a duelist over a paladin when testing.
good luck!

@jessetaverne I will playtest with the paladins and duelists..thanks! :D

I'd go with 4 duelists and the student. In all due respect, quest is not about the creatures. It's about the armor. You just need to activate the quest. Usually you will be swinging with one creature with flying anyway and leaving the ornithopters and memnites to chump. Also, the student is great when you have 1 or 2 mana spare at the end of each turn, or when you are topdecking lands. It is a stronger card than the paladin because at level 2 it survives pyroclasm

@jessetaverne - you can still play hawks even if you don't have artifacts just to add counters to quest

i agree that student is stronger than the paladin, i'm just saying that the duelists arent. Also, the quest is in the deck only 4 times. battlecry gives you a (much needed) alternate win condition, especially with all the supersmall creatures, it has proven to be very effective for me.

@jarrod: that would be a bloody waste though if it's not necessary. are u saying you'd prefer kor outfitters over 1 cmc Signal Pest s? i thought u were an advocate of getting it online quickly. hawks add 2 counters if u have the necessary artifacts and the pests go on the counter as well, more quickly than the outfitters. outfitters are not necessary

I'm saying duelists are sheer power. Even if you don't get armor, Sword of Body and Mind or Sword of Feast and Famine are nasty on double strike. Top 20 cards? That would take Jace 5 turns to do. Discard 2? That's a free Mind Rot and it leaves your mana open

@Jarrod_0067 So what do you suggest I drop for the Kor Duelist s?

@jarrod/sonorous:
To be honest i did not take the swords/bonehoard into account, as my deck only runs the armors and no Stoneforge Mystic s as i don't have the cash for them, nor would i pay for them online. So maybe the duelists are better than i thought.
@ jarrod:
you didn't say something about the outfitters, but i said i'd replace them with Signal Pest s and in reply you said one could play the Glint Hawk s without artifacts on the table.
This statement made me assume you were saying the outfitters did not have to make way for the signal pests, which in my opinion are a way better choice.
Anywho, I don't mean to argue with you, I'm just saying :)
With the mystic in mind, i'd put the duelist and pest at the same powerlevel, either choose between them or drop something else.
I think i'd compromise and drop 1 student, 1 pest and 1 paladin to fit in 3 duelists.
good luck!

@jessetaverne & Jarrod_0067 Many thanks for your ideas both and i have now incorporated both of your points in my deck..

Depends how much you need the battlecry. For the same mana cost as one Accorder (3/1 battlecry), you can have a 3/3 first striker. that you can potentially play a turn earlier. That's much better on defense and can be strong on offense as well. (Battlecry is a mechanic meant for aggro decks that rush every turn. If you want to swing with a few guys out of your field, make sure they're individually strong.)
Students are also 1-drops, which is great for Quest for the Holy Relic . The faster that can get used, the sooner you can get your big hits going.
It ultimately depends on your play style and what you think your deck should be doing. If you need to hit hard in small numbers, Student is the way to go. If you need a field of really big battlecriers, you might opt to stick with the Accorders.
