Meant to be the white card in the Hullbreacher cycle. I think it's probably overpowered, but still not as good as hullbreacher, opinions?

Definetly not overpowered like hull breached. If it was, it would just counter everything after the first spell.

I like it, it having flash means you should get at least one opponent then it just acts as a tax effect (in mono white barring Mana Tithe ). It would probably be an azorious staple as much for the second effect as the first.

It draws cards too well. As much as we may not like it, white just doesn't have or get that that sort of effect. I'd make it so it can and pay a cost to hardcounter a spell, and draw a card if you do so--in replacement of the entire second line.

Omniscience_is_life - alright, I changed it to pay 1WW and tap to counter target spell and draw, is that an alright cost?

As far as power level, I think it's on the OP side - but you're right, nowhere near as busted as the rest of the cycle.

That being said, if you're going to cube/etc it, a somewhat more balanced take for the activated ability might be "Counter target non-creature spell. Draw a card." Or, at least, "Counter target spell. If that spell was a non-creature spell, draw a card." Might fit a little better with the mono-W theme (as much as that stinks).

Regardless - I like it. Cheers!

Grubbernaut - Thanks, I like it too! I might still change the thing to noncreature spells, but we'll see.

So the Flash doesn't help it, as you cast it in response to something and they still get their spell without the extra tax.

LeaPlath - how did I not notice that?! What if I just removed flash entirely, since I don't really want to rework the card?

What about this rework:

Whenever an opponent casts a non-creature spell, that player may have you draw a card. If they don't, counter that spell.

If you want to cast spells, you have to pay the tax. It's not mana, but rather knowledge/information.

Not terribly different from Rhystic Study or Mystic Remora . And it's on a creature that is easier to kill.

I think the active to counter a spell is not a white thing to do, especially with a draw attached. White getting some kind of counter spell makes some sense but it shouldn't be straight hard counters.

Tzefick - I really like that idea, good point about the counter ability!

Ok, I took some suggestions and changed the text to this:

Flash

When you cast this spell, exile all noncreature spells on the stack. (They don't resolve.)

Whenever an opponent casts a noncreature spell, that player may have you draw a card. If they don't, counter that spell.

actually, that's probably way too broken, I could just up the mana cost of the card.

I mean... a 3 mana Summary Dismissal on an ability (so regular counter spells don't work) is probably not a good thing.

If anything at least have it as an ETB so people can counter the creature to avoid the mass counter-spell-exile-ability, and even as an ETB it is scary with flicker effects.

I think I would lower it to only target a single spell to exile and maybe even have a restriction that the spell it exiles has to target you, a spell you control, a card in your graveyard, or a permanent you control.

The ability that whenever an opponent casts a noncreature spell they have to let you draw cards is already a quite powerful effect. I know it's meant to par up to Hullbreacher and Opposition Agent , but I also think it doesn't have to be a legacy auto-include.
