Seance Love

So I thought I'd share my love of the card Seance . Seance suffers because of the lack of a haste clause and it's 4CMC, but it is definitely a fun card to play around with.

In a white blue build, having one Mirror-Mad Phantasm and any number of laboratory-maniacs can set up a quick little win. Get the Phantasm in the graveyard, seance it up during your opponents upkeep and during their end step, use its activated ability. You will shuffle the token into your library and then draw cards until a phantasm is revealed. Since you only had one in your deck your entire library will be dumped into your graveyard. On your upkeep, seance up the maniac (which was just dumped into your graveyard with the rest of your deck) on your upkeep and win during the draw step.

To support this deck you need an efficient way to fill your graveyard, and for this I like Armored Skaab . Spice it up with a strong white blue shell of Sun Titan , counter spells, Oblivion Ring , and Phantasmal Image and you're good to go. This is the deck I'm currently playing: Dia de los Muertos.

So one of the problems people have with Seance is the lack of haste. Wrap it in a Birthing Pod shell and you know have something to do with those non-hasty tokens (at least during your turn.) Also you could just run it in a red white deck filled to the brim with creatures that already have haste, or just focus on good enter the battlefield effects like Blade Splicer .

How can you efficiently fuel your Seance ? In the previous deck I used Armored Skaab , but I may try and build a white black version that uses Zombie Infestation to quickly fill your graveyard.

Could Seance "break" Misthollow Griffin ? Most likely not, but I'd like to try. While I don't foresee myself making a Tier 1 standard deck out of it, maybe someone else can...and that would make me proud.

Seance is tooooooooooooooo good. not only is it fun, but the endless ways to make the deck work are unfathomable. I play red white and the decks ability to get through the top 20-30 cards in the first 6 turns is unreal, all while playing threats every turn. Seance also lets you play cards on their turn that have effects on the amount of damage you will take or one of my personal favorites, playing Solemn Simulacrum , sac him, draw a card, pass turn, bring him back on your upkeep, and you get another land and a blocker for free...how do you beat that???

I found that card:Slayers' Stronghold really gives you an advantage because of the +2/+0 haste and vigilance. check out my deck, I make it work really nicely. deck:ouiji-board-blow-out-seance-wrecks
