Deck change —April 20, 2018

With realizing that theres no realistic way for me to make this deck competitive, I've decided to make it fun!!! From now I'll be looking for as many combos, where at least one piece is fetchable by Zur, I'll probably take out land destruction as a result, and maybe possibly Voltron, tho it would be nice to have a steady win con. So far I the cards in my maybe board as combos

Since you are running the same defensive combo that I run in mine the first few cars you can cut are the tax to attack cards since they wont be needed

Yeah you're right I'll do that.

Actually after putting more thought into it and playtesting, I still need the attacking tax, because if a combo piece is destroyed, then things need more delaying.

My suggestion on the tax to attack cards is replace them with counterspells. Not everyone has enchantment removal in their decks. With counters to protect the RIP combo you dont have to worry bout removal. With both energy field an Web of Inertia in your deck just bring out the rip/energy field combo first. If they do manage to remove it then zur out the web as a backup. Since you are playing blue I would go with a minimum of 8-12 counters. They dont have to be the expensive ones I run. The cheap ones do the same thing as the ones I run. They counter spells.

Also just realized you wanna put diplomatic immunity on Zur. If you use the immunity on him you wont be able to target him with anything else after that. Give him the card from the new set that gives him hexproof. I dont remember the name of it right now unfortunately.

Ivvory it's coming out in dominaria so it is legal soon. Also thank you so much KayneMarco I switch to Curator's Ward immediatley

KayneMarco Limo:

You should ALWAYS use Diplomatic Immunity on Zur. That enchantment protects itself. Also, Zur's effect do not target. As such, it bypasses Shroud.

Zur's oracle ruling:

An Aura put onto the battlefield without being cast doesnt target anything, so it could be attached to a permanent with shroud or hexproof. However, the Auras enchant ability restricts what it can be attached to.

My next advice would be to use better counterspells. Rebuff the Wicked => Pact of Negation

Deny Existence => Void Shatter

Essence Scatter => Render Silent

You would not want too many equipments either. Replacing the 3 myrs with lands would be better.

First of all thank you for all the advice. About Diplomatic Immunity, I still want to be able to play auras on him from my hand, so I'm sorry, but I think I'll stick with Curator's Ward. Next Pact of Negation I'm no using only because of all my land destruction. Paying the five will become very hard. Thirdly, I'm confused about why Void Shatter is better, is devoid that good? Yes I'll replace Essence Scatter with Render Silent

Oh and about the myrs, I stocked up on 2 mana rocks to increase the odds of getting zur out turn three, is that a bad idea. It seems to be working.

Alucarde should If put in Diplomatic Immunity is there an efficient way to blink it in and out so I can attach new auras I draw onto Zur.

Limo:

This is your personal masterpiece and your creation. It is up to you to decide how you want to win and what are your strategies and counter-strategies.

Using Curator's Ward can be viable, as what you mentioned, you can cast your own enchantments onto it. However, I prefer Diplomatic Immunity because it cannot be targeted by single-target enchantment removals, hence protecting Zur better.

Pact of Negation is what I consider a trap counterspell. For 0-cost, you can bait out opponents' "last resort".

Void Shatter counter any spell. Deny Existence only counter creature spells.

Tinker is banned in EDH.

Thank you for the honesty, I'll put in pact, and take out Tinker. And yes I'm actually replacing dissipate,with Unwind.
