Insert witty vampire-related joke here —Jan. 27, 2020

It was becoming unfocused. Stromkirk Condemned, Cordial Vampire, Indulgent Aristocrat and Asylum Visitor are all quite nice honestly but for a build focused on them I have a version 3 up for research and testing purposes. There are just too many good 2 mana vamps fighting for space. So I'm trying to rebalance my mana curve.

I do have an idea for a possible version 4 even, where the focus is 100% on Sorin cheating some of the bigggest, baddest bloodsuckers in the game into play turn 3.

Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord is plain nasty. Consider the value of combining it with another new card, Cordial Vampire Sorin also combos quite nicely with Bloodghast , and can generate insane value by turn 3. Also, he shortcuts to nocturnus altogether, and is overall very mana-efficient.

Honestly, I think the biggest cut candidates are the red cards and the ones that are supported by them. I think Cordial Vampire just puts in so much work that it might just be better than Gifted Aetherborn , given some supporting changes are made. I'm thinking Legion Lieutenant for Stromkirk Captain , with some other removal spell going in for Terminate . I think for 3 mana, Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord puts in a lot more work than Gatekeeper of Malakir as a turn 3 play, because he is just about the best way to stick Nocturnus or Kalitas this early in BW. White has been known to be a great color to board with, so I think these color changes could seriously impact your game 2/3 win percentage as well.

Ironing out wrinkles now. Dropping my Nobles and Terminates makes this look less Rakdos and more Black with a Red splash. I honestly like Condemned more than Lieutenant but white gives amazing sideboard options, as another user mentioned.

My creature list looks borderline random, I know, but I'm at the point of playtesting to rearrange numbers, and every creature here has a reason for inclusion. I feel like the deck doesn't really lose much speed if any with only 1-2 Seers for t1 creatures, just gotta make your 2 drops count. I wish Anje Falkenrath were Modern legal.

K so... Aetherborn/Nighthawk feel obsolete mainboard with Sorin's first +1. He synergizes bizarrely well with Captain. So, probably Aetherborn or Nighthawk could be sided to make room for more Cordials or hand disruption.

I've been following this deck since 2014 and man, it feels weird to see this list without Stromkirk Noble. Excited to see what you eventually settle on.

MaxwellKraft yeah, I feel like he's not even a bad card by any stretch, the deck just needed to evolve. He may or may not eventually get put back in, humans are still a solid tier 1.

I am seriously beginning to consider returning to monoblack since almost all of the new viable vamps are very black-heavy in their cost and besides Lieutenant none are anything but black. My one reservation is... Captain is still captain. Though Cordial is very nice as a pseudo-lord if he doesn't immediately get This is Sparta'd or eat a bolt, and I really did underestimate Condemned together with ghast and visitor, the latter of which adds actual strategic value to being hellbent. And basically the entire deck benefits from new Sorin. Like mother of Alucard, this thing has so much tribal synergy it exceeds even my initial reaction upon seeing him.
