Points for style over efficiency on this one. Yes, a Pili-Pala would get me to infinite faster, as would Training Grounds over Heartstone. I just love the idea that all the key components can be tutored with Fabricate, and the flavor of Vedalkens creating infinite mill with only artifacts is wonderful. Filigree Sages + Khalni Gem + 2 X Hearstone = infinite mana. Grindclock can then be untapped infinitely using Filigree Sages, and mill happens for everyone at the table! In one on one games, I find I don't even need to go infinite. The vedalken mana ramp is enough to untap Grindclock multiple times per turn and mill away.

Given the massive Vedalken mana ramp at work in this build, I thought I would take the Memnarch I removed from my Thopter Foundry deck and replace a land with it. An alternate win in an infinite mana deck is always nice, especially when that win means taking their entire board!
