I've finally got to play the Happy Tree friends in person! The deck performed exactly as I hoped. A threat at the table, but not an overwhelming one. I won a couple games, and lost a couple. But every game with this deck has been explosive and fun. Great!
I've also been able to see which cards work in practice and not just theory. A few weaknesses I've noticed; fliers are a massive massive hole in this deck's defenses. Sure I got Scryb Sprites, Ornithopter, and Hornet Queen, but they chump at best. Similarly, This deck has a hard time dealing with large trample creatures. Solution? Fog. I will be looking to add more fog effects.
Dead cards I will probably cut: - Lifecrafter's Bestiary - too slow and expensive. Literally a dead card in hand when i need pressure and/or answers. - Overwhelming Stampede. It works sometimes, but is often just worse than Overrun when my base power is already low. - Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. This deck doesn't have enough colored mana symbols to properly use Nykthos. Devotion is very very often under 4, where Nykthos actually matters. Sad as I am to say it, Forest is just better here. - As fun as it is, Acorn Catapult is being considered for cuts, because it's just too slow. In two turns, I have paid 6 mana for two 1/1 squirrel tokens. Its just far too slow. Maybe I'll keep it in a sideboard for even lower playgroups.
