Buckminsterfullerene, what counterspells would be good choices for the deck? I can't think of any that fit this deck's gameplan very well.

I would say that the one thing that could really screw up the game plan would be instants that prevent damage and anything that restricts your spellcasting ability a la Grand Abolisher. Also, Witchbane Orb. So things that can eliminate those threats might be good sideboard options.

Aside from beating Charge for Angels; what do you think of Infernal Purge? I only made the Grixis deck, now housed in same box as Naya deck, to battle each other.

I would love more opinions and suggestions.

By the way, +1 for making a 'Red' burn deck my Magic buddy never thought of having used. He figures more creatures into Red decks while using Red pump spells. Then went so far as to use Prophet of Kruphix as a Noble - geared more for tap abilities and un-tap plays alongside Red.

My friend's builds of EDH decks on the other hand...

Witchbane Orb...wow, that would be awful to play against. I guess the sideboard's getting 8 cards worth of artifact hate.

Grand Abolisher really isn't an issue. If you're planning to cast burn spells when they play it, you just cast them while Grand Abolisher is on the stack, then burn it to death during your main phase (which you would want to do anyway, since Searing Blaze is beautiful and 2/2's that can block Goblin Guide are good burn targets).

I suppose that Eidolon of Rhetoric would be a pain to face, but I don't think that's a card that people play in Noble. I'm the only one I know who plays Storm in the format, and that's with Jeskai Ascendancy.

bendjohnson, this deck belongs to an archetype called "Red Deck Wins". It plays a ton of burn for a reason.
