FNM 9/5/14 —Sept. 7, 2014

Went 3-2 at FNM, didn't turn out to bad

First round: 0-2 Rabble red

She went off too quickly in the first game without giving me time to react, boarded in the Circle of Flame but never saw them.

Second round: 2-1 MGD

I got mana-screwed in the first game, with no red mana, but the second and third games, I continued to wipe his mana producers with Anger of the Gods and Drown in Sorrow, before stopping big threats with Hero's Downfall

Round three: 0-2 Mono-Blue devotion

Got mana screwed the first game with no black, second game used Bile Blight with stupendous results, but in the end, he pulled out the victory.

Round four: 2-1 Boros Heroic

Game 1 was relatively quick, curved out and got out a [stormbreath dragon]] turn 5-6, while she got mana-screwed. Game 2 went differently, as she finished me turn 4 with a very dangerous 10/10 double strike Favored Hoplite which she which she prevented from dying with Gods Willing. Game three was a great battle, but it ultimately ended in victory.

Final round: 2-1 R/G Monsters

Game one was brutal, he smashed me quickly, curving out in the best way possible. Games two-three, I had the upper hand with perfect top-decks, and pulled out ahead

Overall, I'm not disappointed with this deck, but as an aggro player, and with Khans being spoiled everyday, I built a more aggro-y Mardu deck: Glory for the Mardu. Check it out.

First glance I want to say that with all the exile spells you have going you're running the right amount of mana, but it's going to roll out slow. You may want to consider getting some pain lands in there. It will speed it up a bit. You're running plenty of life gain for pain lands. Split the difference. 2 of each temple, 2 Mana Confluence , 2 Caves of Koilos , 2 Battlefield Forge . The SB looks pretty solid too.

I really don't like Circle of Flame in the sideboard I don't think Rabble Red is that popular.

Also 4 Anger of the Gods seems really bad with Indulgent Tormentor

I would subtract two of either one and go with 2 more Magma Jet

Kiora_Fan-01 I see what you are saying about the Anger of the Gods and the Indulgent Tormentor , but I almost never have an Indulgent Tormentor that gets anger'd, and if one does, it usually has an Ajani Steadfast counter. Also, at my LGS, rabble red is a huge thing, thus the Circle of Flame in sideboard.

A lot of people don't think about this card that often, but it stuns people when I pull it out in my Boros Mid-Range. Would this deck benefit from Glimpse the Sun God ?

TalusOfTheSea Most of the Tier decks have been running Electrickery over anger as its cheaper, however it has less targets it still gives you lots of value and more time to draw removal. Oh and also I'd replace Revoke Existence with Deicide

irishwrath I like the Glimpse the Sun God . and Kiora_Fan-01 I would never play Electrickery , I get where you are going with it, but it doesn't deal enough damage, and I play Revoke Existence over Deicide because it hits artifacts.
