I personally believe that Zaxara belongs in high power but so be it.. but I am sure that Teshar does not belong in mid-tier. I definitely think he is viable in cEDH even if more so fringe than true-tier1 cEDH.

Heliod, God of the Sun is a very powerful cEDH commander. It can defeat many cEDH decks and can stand up to some of the most powerful commanders like urza and medium green. A video of this deck in action can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AlgaexAMgw

Chandra1 While a lot of the commanders can be made strong they are often outclassed entirely by other commanders who do the exact same thing or similar enough to it to make that commander non viable in competitions. The other reason for lower rankings is that they simply do not show up in popular competitive leaderboards enough compared to some of the others and a few other reason. Heliod, Sun-Crowned for example is a much better example of an extremely powerful mon white commander. Take a look at this list and look at everything from fringe competitive onwards. Notice anything missing? It's mono white commanders and Sun-crowned is the ONLY one on this list. White has actually been calculated to increase your chances of winning by -1% for having any white mana in your deck what so ever. It is the only color that is a detriment to winning commander games and yet the sun-crowned deck is so overwhelmingly strong due to the commander itself that that doesn't impact it at all. Most mono white legendary creatures are terrible or simply unfit for the commander spot since effective decks cannot be built around it that can outpace every other deck above it. White is also too ridged and doesn't have enough synergy and answers to common problems that is not single target creature removal while the other colors are loaded to the brim with it plus far more utility.

thegigibeastShaperSavant LabManiac_Sigi With how the C16 Partner commanders are listed, if a Tier 1 Like Thrasios, Triton Hero is Partnered with a Tier 1.5 like Vial Smasher the Fierce would that make the deck into a 1.75 as far as Power level? I am just curious on how those have been determined for their placement.

Commandtowercast: I think you mean 1.25. But I wouldn't read too much into the exact number. I would most likely assume that for Vial smasher specifically, the way he was given the value was by looking at a Thrasios and Vial Smasher list and determining where that list fell, which would be seen as a tier 1.5 list. But since Thrasios and Tymna was considered tier 1, that would mean the reason for the list being held back was due to Vial Smasher.

At the end of the day, the differences between a tier 1 list and tier 1.5 list are marginal and can be subjective based on individual lists and individual metas. It's all a bit murky.

The power difference between commanders in mid-power is hilsairously huge, some of them need to be bumped to high power while others belong in low. I assume who ever made this list just puts commanders in mid pwoer if he has not researched them yet because somthing like zaxara could eat over half that list for breakfast without any effort.

Why is Neheb, Dreadhorde only T3? The card consistently beats out all the decks I've put it up against (granted this is only anecdotal and my sample size isn't the largest). He is quite easily the most consistent mono red commander I have seen, and I think he is very underrated. Card draw and free spells is a big deal - those are the same reasons Rashmi and 4c Rashmi are so high on the list! For context I am looking at this in the lens of 4 player pods, and I agree with most of the other placements within said context, this one just stands out to me as being somewhat underrepresented

Neheb folds to interaction, and is not nearly as fast or consistent as Godo.

Rashmi and the 4c control list that borrows her name both run a ton of interaction and generate a load of value just by controlling the board. Neheb just doesnt do enough, and mono red is at a disadvantage anyways with card quality.

So one of the things I disagree with this list is that you have Niv-mizzet Reborn is lower than Korvold when they are both food chain and Niv is a stronger deck then Korvold

I don’t get how Roon got moved up to tier 2.5. I know about the rule change but it still doesn’t feel that strong.

Bardythebard Yeah I'd definitely disagree with you on that. I've played niv reborn and korvold as well as played vs both and korvold is consistently stronger from my experience

Why do you rate Zaxara, the Exemplary like that? Zaxara is atleast as good, as Yarok, because she costs (1) less to play, has the best commander-colors (sultai), is also a mana rock which can easily be abused with cards like Freed from the Real/Pemmin's Aura.

Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle is really good, too. He's also mentioned on cedh-database.

SetoKaiba46 says... #21

It should be very obvious why Zaxara is ranked in Mid Power. Also, as a side note, Zaxara is not a mana rock but a mana dork. Outside of its combo line its either just a 4 mana dork that produces 2 which is not good at all, or if you are getting value of its second ability of making hyrdas, then that means you are playing hydra tribal. And tribal is almost always put in mid tier with very few exclusions.

SetoKaiba46 says... #22

Yarok is leagues above Zaxara because outside of its combo line its still providing you tons of value that Zaxara cant produce.

Hello, in the meta after the flash-hulk ban, which deck/s do you consider on average to be the fastest in a more competitive surrounding?

In my opinion Winota belongs into tier 2 to 2.5. The ability to threaten to instantly win the game (usually around turn 3) when you attack with 2-3 non-humans (possibly flipping Auratouched Mage fetching Breath of Fury) is quite strong in my opinion. Even if you do not flip in the win, you either get hatebears on the board that slow your opponents down or you threaten to win the turn afterwards with your massive board.

Maybe I am a bit biased as I play the deck myself and got good success with it at high power tables but I already won turn 2 with this deck: Turn 1: Mountain + Mana Crypt + Goblin Rabblemaster. Turn 2: Plains + Winota -> flip in Auratouched Mage -> infinite combat steps
