Cremate and Performance —Nov. 15, 2012
This deck so far has worked perfectly for me, and using Cremate is a personal choice. I love the card draw, and the 2 damage from Guttersnipe plus getting rid of pesky things in people's graveyard. Cremate is quick and i don't have to sac anything. This deck has already beaten U/W control, mono black(rats), G/W zombies Deathrite Shaman (the toughest battle), and also a G/W populate/lifegain/exalted deck. I'm not sure what that deck was supposed to be it had Sublime Angel, Strangleroot Geist Arbor Elf and Wolfir Silverheart. (it sucked whatever it was. I'm extremely happy with this build

I can see the appeal, but I would still keep card:Altar's Reap side boarded in case they are running something like America Control which is looking fairly popular.

I agree with thedemonsday cremate is more of a sideboard card, not a mainboard card

What about Desecration Demon ? They either take the damage or sac something to tap it and they still activate the Blood Artist 's effect.

i like Cremate just in case they have stuff in their graveyard they can bring back, reanimator decks are pretty popular right now with the whole golgari thing. And it gives me card draw for cheap. card:Altar's Reap is a great card. I use it in my deck Ash to Mouth. I just don't feel it fits in here well enough since some of my creatures sac themselves, and others i want to keep on the field so its not a complete suicide deck. cremate gives me the card draw without the need to sac anything. I was hesitant about it at first, wanting to maybe put in Underworld Connections but i chose cremate because of its instant ability helping fuel Guttersnipe a little more.
