Sideboard

This was my Edge of Eternities prerelease deck, which took me to a 3-0 victory with only one game loss. I'm pretty pleased with it, so I'm preserving it here, as is tradition.

I think I had a great pool with this one; there's a ton of removal and flying creatures, which are always welcome in Limited. The basic strategy is to ramp up in the early game as best you can, removing threats and stalling on the ground with decent creatures, then bring in things like Pinnacle Kill-Ship, Starbreach Whale, and Harmonious Grovestrider to finish things off.

I initially worried the deck was a bit too scattered. I didn't get as many Landers as I'd like for a ramp deck, nor card draw for a control deck, but it ended up working out great. It helped a lot that this format--at least at the prerelease--felt pretty slow, so it wasn't too hard to stall until I had enough lands out, even with only a few sources of ramp. My target was basically always seven lands for Pinnacle Kill-Ship, which was absolutely the MVP of the deck. It kills something on entry, can usually be stationed right away by that point of the game, and hits for a ton of flying damage.

There aren't enough artifacts to make Emissary Escort amazing, but it's a good blocker early on, and becomes a 7/4 when the Kill-Ship enters (which is also enough to station it). Banishing Light is there just because it wasn't too hard to splash with the ramp I already had, and removal is removal. Swarmyard is cute here; it helps card:Fungal Collossus a bit, but there are also enough insects in the deck to make it just useful enough to be annoying.
