Finally Real Life Testing —Oct. 21, 2018

So after finally putting all the pieces together I was able to play it against my meta. I honestly thought this deck would not perform well in 1v1, but I was able to actually pull off a couple of wins. I also lost some, but they were close and not a total smacking. [Played against an Alesha combo deck / sometimes Stax decks depending on what he techs in]. I was also able to play a bit of 3 person pod and performed well, getting atleast two pieces so when I wheeled or made them discard hand was able to dish out about 24 damage across the board, which felt pretty nice.

I will be taking out a couple of cards that underperformed in my meta and adding in some that might perform better.

I think you're going to have to take a direction with the deck. It seems that your deck is being pulled in too many different directions. Big finishers (with your commander being one), discard enablers, discard payoffs... the balance depends on how you want to take your deck.

If you want to stick with Crosis, I'd recommend building a control-ish deck with him at the top end (or close to it) of your mana curve. Take out your specters and dragons. Run more low-to-the-ground utility drops like Baleful Strix, Serendib Sorcerer, Liliana's Specter, Nin, the Pain Artist, Nivix Guildmage, Notion Thief etc. Run cards that force discarding like Necrogen Mists, Creeping Dread, Painful Quandary etc. Go heavy on removal and draw spells. Alongside your commander, you can have some big spells as a way to end the game when they go long, like Torment of Hailfire, Exsanguinate, deathcloud. Unless the vast majority of your cards are CMC 4 or below, the deck will be very clunky imo.

With all your discard and wheels have you thought about adding Waste Not It should be able to give you a good amount of card advantage if nothing else. Another great card would be Library of Leng this will let you have no max hand size and you will never have to discard unless you want to

WhichKing Thank you for the feedback. I've had this discussion with a couple of people before, and I think by removing the majority of the specters and dragons, I turn into a grixis good stuff deck, which should just helm Nekusar at that point since I want to be drawing and wheeling all the time. I understand the 4 cmc might be awkward for a lot of players, but that was the goal of the ramp, and from play testing I have been able to get 5 drops out on turn 3 since I usually have some sort of rock in my hand, but often 2 mana accelerators. Plus, turning away from Crosis, the Purger to a grixis good stuff deck also doesn't go along with the theme. I will agree it is being pulled, but I will argue that those two directions work together. They discard, while I get value out of it, plus this allows me a safer bet on plopping down these big 6 drop dragons.

xander11 Thank you for the feedback! I already had Waste Not in my board, since that is a really really good card when it sticks around on the board. I really like Library of Leng as well since this could allow me to play around with what I want and when I want it. Will definitely be adding that in somewhere once I can find a spot.
