I would mainboard Tymaret, the Murder King, kill their stuff from the grave!
Another idea is Dictate of Erebos, which just becomes lolwesome in this type of take it, bake it sort of deck.

Bear in mind all these Theros suggestions are nice but you can't use them for much longer.

While theros is legal, if you do the Battlefield Thaumaturge/Icy Blast combo with Willbreaker out you can instantly take all their creatures

Exactly. I'm trying to limit the number of cards in the deck that will be rotating out.
July 15, 2015 3:19 p.m.
I would sub in Akroan Conscriptor for the Enthralling Victor at least until theros rotates...not sure I would use victor at all really...too high a mana cost for a very limited ability. Perhaps something that targets... I would have to look through the standard cards to find something appropriate.. Briber's Purse would be one option.

papahiggs: Good call with Akroan Conscriptor
Curchanus: While Tymaret, the Murder King definitely fits the theme, I'm not sure it would be super effective. It's great if it's in the graveyard, but can only be used once each time it dies. Also, I love the Dictate of Erebos, but it's a 5 drop. If it was a 3 or even a 4, I would consider it.

I'm a L1 judge and can say that the Throwing Knife + Willbreaker combo does indeed work.
July 15, 2015 8:03 p.m.
As a level 1 judge I'd say this would work, because the target indeed needs to be chosen as the ability is put on the stack and when it resolves, you can decide whether or not to sacrifice it and deal 2 damage. This is a great combo you discovered here and I might use it in future budget decks ;)
Also, some suggestions for repeated stealings might be Frenzied Goblin or Felhide Spiritbinder or even Goblin Heelcutter! Ahhh, the fun stuff you can do to abuse a Willbreaker...

OK judges, i have a question and a debate. From reading it through and through i am not seeing how this combo works and would like to hear more on it.
Whenever equipped creature attacks, you may sacrifice Throwing Knife. If you do, Throwing Knife deals 2 damage to target creature or player.
SO the way i am seeing this. First the attacker is declared which triggers the ability. At this point the ability is optional. In order for it to fallow though, First the Throwing Knife must be sacrificed which triggers (due to the comma) the second half; choosing a target creature or player. If the Throwing Knife was indeed sacrificed, then and only then is it allowing the ability to target a creature thus triggering Willbreaker.
Insight please, I am really curious how this is wrong?

@ ILoveTacos: The ability as a whole goes on the stack at once. There is no "if you do, the second part of the ability triggers".
Whenever an ability is put on the stack, the controller needs to choose a legal target for each instance of the word 'target' in the text of the ability. It doesn't matter if it's a 'may' ability or not, the creature or player is still targeted.

ILoveTacos: That's what a lot of people thought when I originally posted this list, so it's not just you. The way it's worded, it seems a lot like an activated ability. That's probably where the confusion stems from. But, because this is a triggered ability, everything has to be declared whenever it's triggered.

Ordering this deck just to mess around cuz it looks fun :p
July 16, 2015 9:34 a.m.
I might be wrong but can't you sacrifice only creatures you own (not just control)?
July 16, 2015 10:19 a.m.
RussischerZar says... #15
You can sacrifice permanents you control, you don't have to own them.

It seems awesome, but i must say i didn't get the idea :(
I really did not understand the combo and the deck itself. Can someone explain it to me, in an easy way? =x
By the way, +1 upvote and added to my folder.

ShokuYuki: The deck 'steals' creatures using Willbreaker and Act of Treason, then uses sac outlets (Nantuko Husk and Collateral Damage) to use your opponents creature against them.

Hello wjohnson936 and thanks for the kind words! I like what you're doing here. Looking at it objectively though, I think you could improve the consistency of the deck by dropping a color. Tri-color is excellent and if you were dropping big money on top quality lands, you'd be in great shape here. But with 3colors and tapped dual lands, you're going to be running a little slow and inconsistent. So if I was going to take a crack at this deck, I'd try to figure out which two colors allow me to keep my strategy as intact as possible, then really hone those two colors for power and consistency. Great start though!

What are your thoughts for post rotation? It only looks like you'll need to drop Akroan Conscripted and Battlefield Thaumaturge.

Eao134: Well, rotation is never fun. At the moment, I'll be losing Battlefield Thaumaturge, Akroan Conscriptor, and Hammerhand in my mainboard and Triton Tactics in my sideboard. More than likely, Battlefield Thaumaturge will hit the hardest. My current plan is to replace my Akroan Conscriptors with Blazing Hellhound and Hammerhand with Briber's Purse. As for the Thaumaturge, I'm hoping to find a replacement in the set that will be cycling in. It all depends on what the Eldrazi are about. If not, I'll be moving in some of the thopter producers, possibly Whirler Rogue.
Regardless, it's not like I invested a lot of money in this deck.

For those confused about Willbreaker and Throwing knife, it's because of 603.5; They'd be targeted by the ability when it went on the stack, so you'd gain control of them because they were targeted. When the ability resolves, you choose to not sacrifice the throwing knife because it's a may ability, which is decided upon resolution.
603.5. Some triggered abilities' effects are optional (they contain "may," as in "At the beginning of your upkeep, you may draw a card"). These abilities go on the stack when they trigger, regardless of whether their controller intends to exercise the ability's option or not. The choice is made when the ability resolves. Likewise, triggered abilities that have an effect "unless" something is true or a player chooses to do something will go on the stack normally; the "unless" part of the ability is dealt with when the ability resolves.

Alaztyr Don't forget 117.12. ;) I had considered putting both in the description, but I figured it would lead to more arguments about misreading the rules or something. But, they're there now.

smack80: I like it (especially the "untap those creatures" clause.) I'll probably run it over Titan's Strength or Coat with Venom.
Magicrafter:Coordinated Assault could work. I'll test it out a little.
