Cheap, Competitive Deck

Standard forum

I'm trying to find a deck that can be pretty competitive while still in the budget range. I was hoping that some of you guys in the forum might have some ideas.

Any suggestions are welcome, and the price that I'm shooting for is less than 80$. If you have a link to the specific decklist or could list the cards that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a ton!

well, I'm not sure how competitive this is, but my goblins deck can be fun and hit pretty hard. Link: Goblins, Goblins, Goblins and MO GOBLINS

Wow, the Goblin deck does look really fun! That's definitely going to have to go into consideration.

This is in the Standard forum, so no, I'm not looking for Modern decks. Just ideas for standard.

Considering this is in the standard forum, they're probably not playing modern.

Variations of Red Deck Wins are usually pretty cheap depending on card choices. Goblins can be quite ridiculous and cheap as well, especially now Massive Raid exists, meaning you don't even need Hellrider if you don't want to spend the cash.

Any mono red deck is competitive. I have seen a dude drop 40 dollars and place in the top 4. Rakdos has many common and uncommon creatures that will lead you in the right direction, and efficient burn spells are all common and uncommon also. There are several rares that fit well in rdw, such as Ash Zealot and Stromkirk Noble . Just to name a couple. The noble would do you very well because there has been a sudden resurgence of human decks. And they all run Cavern of Souls because of the spike in esper control decks coming out of the woodwork. You can splash black for things like Bump in the Night and Tragic Slip and you should do alright. Good luck to you.

I also vote Red Deck Wins. It's a tier one deck and can be built for under $40 USD. You won't have Thundermaw Hellkite or Cavern of Souls , but the rest of the deck is stuff like Searing Spear and Rakdos Cackler . I.E. really good commons and uncommons.
