Making a Deck Sequel

Uh... Code Geass spoilers if you care? Sort of, I guess.

So I am making a sequel to Lelouch vi Britannia Commands You! and once again I need a Commander. Of course I want to stay true to the theme of the Zero Requiem and its aftermaths. The question is how I want to build the deck. My original thought was a Saffi Eriksdotter deck that combos out with creatures that return cards from the grave when they ETB, have a sack outlet in Phyrexian Altar /Ashnod's Altar , and an X spell like Entreat the Angels . But it doesn't do the whole "no need for hatred and war" thing the ZR set out to accomplish, cause with combos bring hate.

Another idea would be a "please don't wage war" with Ith, High Arcanist /Lieutenant Kirtar that would also be thematic but would sort of lack the sacrifice part.

Or maybe I should go full-out group hug with Phelddagrif or something and mix the two. Any thoughts?

Pillow fort reanimator?

Interesting, didn't manage to think of that. But the reanimator part may make me have to run black somewhere.

The thing is, I have no idea who or what the thing is, but "please don't wage war" is definitely pillow fort and "sacrifice" makes me think of combos, but that doesn't really bode well for the first part of the flavor, so I'm thinking maybe reanimator? But then again, there are "sacrifice shenanigans" decks so I think "pillow fort sacrifice shenanigans" is going to be the conglomeration of archetypes you're gonna aim for. Give me a second, and I'll see what I can suggest as to the both of those together...

Well, I went first to look up some more info about Requiem Zero from Code Geass, and it looks like they basically made one thing super hated that it brought piece when it died. The only thing that I know that reminds me of that is Karona, the False God with a whole bunch of Vows on her and other pillow fort stuff. I think it's hard to really build a deck around "everyone be peaceful cause I killed this creature now". In fact, building around "everyone be peaceful" is hard cause it goes against the nature of the game. At least "everyone be peaceful to me" is easier to do!

I'd suggest going with Karona pillowfort voltron. Even though it doesnt have the element of "sacrifice" as much, it's definitely more focused on one person being the center of the problems of war, and when Karona dies, you can say she made a good sacrifice.

Oooh, I also thought about Hanna, Ship's Navigator ! It works really well with pillow fort, and you can sacrifice stuff and bring them back with her ability!

Idk, hope I helped!

Technically I already have the "make everyone hate you" part done, in the LVBCY deck up there. This deck is supposed to be focused on the coup de grace of the Zero Requiem, i.e. the sacrifice and the peaceful aftermath. But Karona Voltron pillowfort sounds very interesting as well.

I can't help but feel like Angus Mackenzie is better at stopping war. Because Fog .

And I have no idea what the references are to. Just putting in what I gathered from your description.

That's a pretty good idea too, wish I had thought of it.

Maybe something like Ertai, the Corrupted ? Sacrifice your own stuff to prevent stuff from happening and keep the peace. On top of that it has black for reanimation.

Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts might work. At least you have access to the colors you'll need for full flavor.
