Getting into EDH

Decided to try and get into EDH; however I've run into a slight snag. Mainly, I don't really know any good cards in legacy. I've done pauper, but that doesn't really cover the wide breadth of legacy. Anyway, I'm looking for cards that have really high toughness. I need them to not have defender, though if there is a way to remove defender in a broad sweep that'd be great.
Yeah, I saw the ability and thought that'd be really nice considering all the low cost defender cards there are that have really high toughness. Unfortunately, I've only found 3 ways of getting my walls to attack.
Just a quick question: Can I use colorless cards even though my commander doesn't? So a card that is completely colorless i.e. Wall of Shields .

yea you can use colorless thats the best part about it lol any deck can use it

You have two choices: Run walls and Rolling Stones ; you have black tutoring, or run stuff like Indomitable Ancients .

Thanks for answering my questions and answering my suggestions. Just a few more requests.
How many lands are suggested for an EDH deck? Considering 100 cards I'd say about 40 should be lands?
Also, what are ways to protect enchantments, Rolling Stones ? I have Privileged Position and Junktroller , but that's only two cards out of 100.

Sterling Grove and Greater Auramancy are in the same colors as Privileged Position and result in a complete shroud for your enchantments, and troll-shroud for everything else if you get position and one of them out.
Start with 40 lands. Drop one land for every two mana rocks you put in (Ravnica signets, Alara Borderposts, Sol Ring , Darksteel Ingot , Coalition Relic . Depending on how many colors you run you can occasionally cheat a bit lower (my mono-red deck runs only 33 lands)
card:Belbe's Armor is also nice with Doran (haven't looked at your list yet)
