Sultai Reanimator Help

Commander Deck Help forum

Hello, all!

I am looking for assistance to build a Sultai Reanimator deck using Muldrotha, the Gravetide as my general. I am completely new to the reanimator playstyle, and would like some help on good cards. I am not looking for Druid combos, but infinite death/etb is fine. Thanks!

For those that dont keep up with the spoilers:

Muldrotha, the Gravetide

3BGU

Legendary Creature Elemental Avatar

6/6

During each of your turns, you may play up to one permanent card of each permanent type from your graveyard. (If a card has multiple permanent types, choose one as you play it.)

So my playgroup and I have been talking about this guy a little and think it is better as a reanimation target as opposed to a general. It might be good in a Tasigur list or 4c hatebears. Have to wait and test it to find out though.

He is pretty interesting. At this point I would recommend looking into Sidisi, Brood Tyrant and Karador, Ghost Chieftain as both of those will run a similar play style.

I do want to say that I see many different ways you can go. For maximum value out of him you would want to evenly spread across permanent types. You can also be more focused one way or another. So what kind of win condition were you thinking?

You can cheat out big beat sticks but this guy doesn't cheat mana costs so that doesn't really fit. Still being able to play the same scary creature every turn until it is exiled is neat.

You can work off death triggers from things like Zulaport Cutthroat and Grave Pact, That would work well I think.

ETBs with cards like Terastodon would be great and mixes well with the death triggers.

You could run some form of superfriends with 3 colors it isn't bad and he brings back planeswalkers.

I guess voltron is an option since he brings auras and equipment back so you could keep grabbing Snake Umbra or something but he doesn't have evasion or anything else useful to that strategy.

Deadbridge Chant should be powerful here no matter how you choose to build him. Perhaps Manabond for cheap ramp since you can get your stuff back. And some sac outlets would be good, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord is a fun one if you decide on big beat sticks for a win condition.

Actually, win conditions were what I was most unsure about, DrukenReaps. Theres going to be some great things to look forward to.

I will definitely look up some Karador decks to see whats going on with them. I should have my list up later on tonight.

Thanks guys!

I made a very tentative list myself and I had the same problem as far as figuring out what my primary wincon would be. Mine just ended up being goodstuff with some infinite combos thrown in.

There are a ton of ways to go with it (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) but it makes it much more difficult to try and streamline the deck.

I'll be checking out your list for sure to see what you come up with IAmTheWraith!
