A deck under 5 dollars

ALL cards added together, besides lands, must be 5 dollars or less. :D

If you limited yourself to say, 15 cents per card, (on the low end for most commons,) you could only run 33 cards. Aggro is out the window because 27 lands is outrageous. To stay true to this any given deck would have to be late game stomp or control, BUT, 15 cent control cards generally target small creatures and any amount of creature base you may want to play with is going to be very vanilla and bland. Any other cards you could play would be horribly under-powered for the number of lands you would be drawing, it becomes a format of always being flooded. 5 dollars is a cool thought at first, but when it costs a 5th of your deck to play a single playset of a remotely decent draft card, the idea becomes too constricting.

considering that basic lands cost about 30-50 cents on here, even if all your cards cost the same price as land, you would already be two to three times over your $5 limit, even without adding the cost of the land.

Well, I mean, you can always buy a box of junk commons from anyone at any shop for $5. Begin crafting. $15 could be doable.

I am new to this website, so please pardon my arrogance.Which format would this challenge be for? I think it would be fun to try.

Sasajiro its for casual format most likely. So just about anything goes.

If I may be allowed to indulge in a bit of shameless deck promotion, the $10 range is doable. (These may have crept over that, but they were under $10 when built.)

15 Cents a card, I have made 3 five dollar decks. They aren't the best, for finding good cheap cards generally brings the price to 25-35 cents. I want to see a deck without lands that could run 5 dollars, 15 cents or less a card. :D

Kyleeee I mean it is possible, but it would just be a bunch of commons. And not even good commons because pauper makes them more expensive.
I'd like to ask you: What kind of deck would you like to play and where? (Kitchen Table, FNM, etc)

If you have made $5 decks before, would you care to share them with us?

Ryjo Oh okay! :D here :D

Black-5 Budget

Blue-5 Control

With blue, you need some early damage and draw cards. With that you can start with a momentary early draw against opponent, allowing counters and freezing cards to enter hand. With those, lock down game with constant draw. Slow kill, but hard to break if it the draw is good. :)

With black, an early Tormented Soul is needed to allow other cards to deal the correct damage. To allow you time, there is easy discard. You can win the game quickly if you get the correct cards, at the correct times. :)

I want advice if you can give it for 15 cents or less cards.

EpicFreddi Ryjo legendofa Advice? I want to see all of yours and how they turn out. :D

Five dollars is possible, and you should try it. :D

Advice? Find a card that's cheap (like around 30 cents) and has a unique effect, then add on cards that manipulate, supplement, or reinforce the effect. To use my RakCackHackManiacAttack deck up there as an example, I started with Jund Hackblade, added on Rakdos Cackler and Tattermunge Maniac to ensure that it gets active reliably, and built out from there. Basic lands are critical, and Guildgates and Refuges are useful for multiple colors.

legendofa I was referring to me own deck. Haha! :D I like your decks, but I am mainly looking for five dollar decks or lower. 10 dollar decks can be used to win relatively fairly, where five is a whole new challenge. You should try it.

Also if you have any advice on mine, I would love to hear. :D
