Tempo, not Aggro —Feb. 8, 2016

With some recent changes I've found that U/W Mockery now plays as a tempo deck as opposed to aggro. I changed the name so that people don't play it like an aggro deck which would make it less effective and much more vulnerable. When you leave mana open for your control spells (always cast Stratus Dancer face down for her flip ability) this deck is extremely successful :)

I see you've added two Starfield of Nyx and two Valorous Stance. I get the latter, but wonder if the Starfield might be too slow in the midst of a pretty fast-moving creature-heavy deck, and perhaps hard to get to go off with just 4 other enchantments in the deck? I'm guessing you have it in more for the first ability to get back Mirror Mockerys mid/late game? Just curious about this tweak from your perspective- thanks!

Yes, Mirror Mockery has such important card synergy so bringing it back on upkeep is a huge plus.

Auramancer takes less time to get out. Since this is an aggro strategy, and you only have 4 Mirror Mockery in the deck, you can go a whole game without drawing it. Getting it to return on turn three and reused on turn four instead of waiting for a turn five return is kinda important if you want to use that strategy. You also can't block with an enchantment. You may get more long term benefits fron that card, but you are also limited to one return per turn where as Auramancer can grab 1 to 5+ a turn. Unrealistic but possible. Follow up with a Displacement Wave and you have a good method of returning Mockery for use.

You can also try copying it with Clever Impersonator for a fifth turn four Mockery if it already exists. The fact that it can dupe any creature for whatever strategy appears to be working is a nice bonus too.

I had Harbinger of the Tides in here but replaced him with Reflector Mage.

Number typo. Nyx is a turn 6 Mockery from grave. Waiting two more turns than Aura to get your mockery back in the game. Assuming you have five mana on turn 5 to even cast your Nyx.

Don't see much guarantee to lands in your deck. Flooded hurts more than helps for Nyx. My experience with fetches is that they can shaft higher mana cards.

And having one less potential blocker that late in the game to take a 5+ mana creature hit could mean the difference between lasting one more round to get your reflector out to take over the game again.
