Kaho, Minamo Historian and Naban, Dean of Iteration EDH decks. It is a Format I am too unfamilliar with. But generally most of my decks in Standard or Modern try to accomplish what both of those two cards can do naturally. EDH is just a way of keeping them on the battlefield.

You can also Morph/Exile Hivemind for four or less mana depending how many colours you want to use. Cloudform can also give hexproof until the next turn when you flip it. Essence Flux is one of many that can do the flipping.

But you shouldn't need turn 4. Calciform Pools, Dreadship Reef, and Mage-Ring Network all ramp up for Mono-Blue. There are other coloured versions as well.

Add somes Scrying and you're good to go. Think I'll try the two card combo with some Spreading Seas and Field of Ruin.

DTK for Living Lore and Mirror Mockery.

But overall Block would have to go to BFZ for Awaken, Surge, and Landfall all in one. Those three keywords combo well with cards like Skyline Cascade turning Lands into free reuseable spells when you have Slab Hammer in the mix. Locking down a Red Aggro deck with Skyline Cascade and Rush of Ice is pretty hilarious. But, so is 0 mana artifacts and Surge. Overwhelming Denial was a huge help in facing off against Esper decks, of which there were many. Good time for Esper.

The Eldrazi were done very well and had some nice counter spells. Using counterspells to add mana was pretty awesome. So was using countered cards in exile as fuel to return those same counterspells for reuse. It wasn't too bad a time for mono-blue, a lot of interesting interactions.

Using several of them to build in Modern now. Seems like BFZ makes up half of all my Modern deck ideas. Counter spells didn't make the cut though.

Some of the new sets are really pushing things though with cards like Spell Swindle further turning counters into rewarding ramps. Though I wish Surge and Rebound were in a single Block instead of seperated between DTK and BFZ. Both keywords are a little limited but would work so well together. Preferably without having to use 2-3 colours just to access enough cards or favouring Blue/White and Blue/Red respecticely. Would like to see all colours be able to use Rebound to power their Surge spells, particularly in Mono decks.

That would become my favourite Block.

Do the cards in exile stay in exile even when the land leaves play? Do multiple lands played in same turn exile into the same pile or a new one each?

Using Deprive, Slab Hammer, and Pearl Lake Ancient.

Quicken can give you instant even with sorceries. It also draws a card on its own.

I personally like using it with Crush of Tentacles but that isn't an option here unless you side in tour Spreading Seas. Very effective card draw/mana denial followup on your next turn.

Engulf the Shore may also work. I use it with Living Lore but it could work here. The flip occurs at the casting so you can use it at even 4 islands as long as you have three previous counters.

The other option is to add a few 0 cost cards or just a bunch of 1 drop counterspells and just use them on yourself to trigger the flip. You only need an initial target. That includes counterspelling your own counterspells. Also, if you use Stubborn Denial at 3 counters it instantly becomes a Ferocious spell since the cast comes first and the resolving of the now Ferocious spell comes after.

Ah, for some reason I thought it was two blue. Still, having only 3 means that you have to save them up. That'll make it hard to counter removal/counter over 3 turns. Rolling the dice a little much with extra counters in sideboard I think. There is an enormous amount of good non-creature spells in standard, which means your opponent will most likely be equipped to face your finisher on the first run.

Some Spell Pierce to protect your cast on turn 5 to ensure the one card this entire decks rests on can be cast and can be protected afterward. Your two mana counter is fine when you have two blue, but leaving one blue open is easier. Your deck is on a bit of a schedule. Best not to risk removal or you're done. Unless you want to cast it only on turn 6 or up. The other option is to add early targets to make them use up their removal. Or alternative enchantments to be played first. That Efficient Construction as a test run cast could work for turn 4.

Lantern of Insight empowers the other player's draw cards and discard to graveyard strategies.

A few key lands could help. If you use Ensoul Artifact, then Darksteel Citadel can obviously be the land of choice. Zhalfirin Void can help you Scry more safely than Halimar Depths. Index and Sage of Epityr are two cheap Scry cards for setting up your next 5 draws. The Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx land is your devotion land.

Lens of Clarity can be a pretty efficient with an Ensoul Artifact and Reality Shift or Blessed Reincarnation. Temporal Mastery would also be a good addition. You also wouldn't have to reveal your cards. Displacement Wave can destroy morphed and token creatures without touching your permanents. It also makes casting Cloudform pretty easy to give your creatures flying and hexproof before you get to their indestructible unblockable part. It also adds some nice devotion. Mostvof these cards are cheap too.

If you need draw, Cerulean Wisps is very efficient. You may also which to invest in Morphing. Exiling Morphed cards returns permanents flipped and untapped. Also triggers ETB effects. Very easy amass mana with an exiled Drowner of Hope. Or counter spells by turning an Essence Flux into an ETB Counterspell. This also works with Cackling Counterpart. The cloning of counter creatures happens before the original is hit with the removal spell. Fun.

Just 3 expensive Unwind is a little light vs removal. Like the concept of unblockable and armed artifacts though.

Since Naban, Dean of Iteration is illegal, Kaho is definitely top pick for my own deck ideas. I only have store bought EDH decks so far.

Cerulean Wisps is great for turning your mana into cards 1 for 1 as Elite Arcanist or Kaho, Minamo Historian.

Quicken will let you play at the end of opponent's turn.

Back from the Brink will give creatures Flashback. Pretty useful for EDH I think.

Torrential Gearhulk will Flashback any instant. If you equip a low mana exile bounce card you can Flashback your graveyard instants as if they were in your hand. Double up on counterspells. Any creatures that return spells on ETB to hand also become very potent. Imagine tapping Elite Arcanist for 1 colourless each turn and getting back an instant or sorcery due to Archaeomancer. Crazy.

Quicksilver Amulet for gives creatures Flash. Saves on counterspells.

Fold into AEther if given to your commander will let you cast 1 mana spells just to counter. This will let you drop a creature down instantly as if they had Flash for 5 mana. If you can get Elite Arcanist to equip one then you can Flash creatures in regularly.

Other ETB creatures to take advantage of exile bounce triggers. Turns creatures into a reuseable spellbook.
