Played a couple 8-man events, Ran into some issues —Oct. 27, 2016

After playing the deck some, I came to the conclusion that I need some actual removal, and a way to deal with fliers. The manabase also gets some light tinkering to make it a tiny bit faster. I filled out the sideboard with some more cards I had lying around, but it's still an utter mess and needs a lot of work. I also want to add a couple of draw-2s, but I'm not sure which to add, although Murmurs from Beyond looks very intriguing. I'm pretty certain Mulldrifter and Sea Gate Oracle come out to make room, unless I'm unhappy with Waxmane Baku in which case Sea Gate Oracle gets to stay.

In terms of the maindeck:

-1 Blessed Breath. This didn't really do much at the time it came out, but with the addition of the Waxmane Bakus I'm considering readding it. Having Thief of Hope hit by Journey to Nowhere is another problem that Blessed Breath could solve if it comes back in.

-4 Counterspell. Double blue is super janky for the manabase. This came out to make way for actual removal and some more delaying tactics in Nameless Inversion and Waxmane Baku. However, I'm still scared enough of certain decks to put 3 Negate in the Side.

+3 Nameless Inversion. Removal of choice for the deck. Works just as well as Lightning Bolt 90% of the time in this deck, and being a spirit (because Changeling) means it procs Waxmane Baku and Thief of Hope and can be Soulshifted as well, meaning the deck runs a virtual 7 copies.

+2 Waxmane Baku. Still not 100% on this one. It should help gum up the board and deal with fliers, but it is 3 mana up front, and usually just eats a removal spell. My deck playing so few actual removal targets means whatever I do play immediately dies.

Mana Base:

-1 Dimir Aqueduct

+1 Swamp

Very interesting! I will have to try this out. I've been tinkering with splice but haven't done nearly anything so developed.
