FNM Update —March 29, 2014

I took home pseudo first place. First was actually claimed by the store owner, but he passed the prize pool down, so i somewhat took first place again. Anyway, time to break it down!

Game 1: I went up against the store owner, it wasn't great for me, I went 0/2, I never once got past 3 mana in our matches, I spent a while after that shut out shuffling my deck up.

Game 2: I went up against a new player, a young kid, I was trying to teach him how to play as we went along, I tried helping his confidence as well by letting him get plenty of damage through, but over all, I had huge creatures out on the field against his Brindle Boar, Elvish Mystic and Briarpack Alpha. He ran a what seemed a premade deck from the box, with some cards loaned from myself and otheres at the game store to help him out. I Ended up 2/0

Game 3: I faced a Selesyna aggro it seemed, running the Cat King, Loxodon Smiter, Soldier of the Pantheon. This guy never likes to face my deck, every time I cast out Cyclonic Rift overloaded he scoops, which I did twice. Ended up 2/0

Game 4: Was a RDW I believe, the gamese didn't last long. First one, I just out creatured him, and bounced back the Boros Reckoner he had out, and got plenty of damagee by. Game two, I was starving for mana, lost with only 2 lands out on the board. After a thorough shuffle, I was ready, game 3 was the most shutout one I had all night, Burning-Tree Emissary into Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx with a Garruk, Caller of Beasts got out a Prophet of Kruphix, and then over loaded cyclonic and they scooped.

I ended a total of 3-1, getting me second, but with the prizes of first.

So, this deck is seeming fairly consistent now a days, So, I may finally stop running it and use my newer mono-blue control deck 7.5% Win con
