Running 24 lands, I don't think running Nykthos is needed, especially since your curve only goes to 5 and you have Crypt Ghasts :)

I agree, take your lands down to maybe add some other specters or I like small stuff, Ravenous Rats is fun and cheap. Or Waste Not is fun too.

Or if you plan just on being defensive until you can get a combo up Typhoid Rats is fine. Though Waste Not is really good if you push your discard further (: maybe add some tutors to help you find combo pieces though?

Tutors are above my pay grade (well everything that's not diabolic). I was thinking of adding Greed too for more draw.

If you want more draw try Howling Mine, this will help. +1 for a good idea.

Why not run Diabolic Revelation instead so you can get both pieces at once?

I love running my Zendikar vampire deck with a playset of blood seekers and Butcher of Malakirs just to make everyone mad.

I'll definitely grab a couple of those revelations, the only problem is how much it costs. Kinda slows down my 4-5 turn win.

i think vampire nighthawk would be good in this deck to kinda give you some way to not lose a lot of life while you try to assemble your combo

I feel like the extort should help with that. Even if I take damage I'll just gain it all back.

I've thought of doing this for quite some time now, but it's also pretty risky, because if they have True Believer, Witchbane Orb, etc. you're dead. And also, it's quite vulnerable to destroy enchantment. But I still really like the idea, and I don't think that most people would be planning on countering this style anyway.

Extort doesn't target so hexproof/shroud wouldn't stop me anyway, only enchantment removal. And even then, I still should be gaining a lot of life from it anyway so even if I can't get my combo off I can still be a prick and kill people's creatures and steal all their life.

Add wall of limbs. The deck uses a lot of extort, which adds life. Wall of limbs can cause massive damage with enough counters.

Also add a staff of death magnus.
