Going Modern.. —Oct. 29, 2014
This was originally a budget Rakdos Rush deck during the RTR-THS season in Standard.. But RTR has since rotated out of Standard, and this happened to contain mostly stuff from the RTR block.. But I still wanted to get some use out my Rakdos staples from the deck. So eventually I came across Fists of the Demigod& Ashenmoor Liege, and just went from there..

I somewhat disagree with you usohatchi, because even though taplands can definitely slow things down, but not NEARLY as much as not drawing the right colors at all.. See, this deck NEEDS an active combination of Red/Black mana to properly function, and having some taplands is the only way to help insure that, and this is reflected in upper-tier Rackdos decks running a pair of Guildgates in addition to playsets of Blood Crypt & Temple of Malice .. Athough I would like to be able to ditch the Guildgates, the Scrylands are actually rather useful for preventing unproductive draws..

You should definitely make your Blood Crypts a playset, and not your guildgates, make it much faster. Also, I'd suggest Magma Jet for burn and a really nice scry 2 to keep your deck running smoothly.

EsoEric If budget wasn't an issue; Then personally I would have playsets of both Blood Crypt & Temple of Malice ; trading out a pair of Rakdos Guildgate & a Mountain in the process. Plus a playset of Thoughtseize instead of Duress in the sideboard wouldn't hurt either, but this is what I actually own at the moment; so call this a "work in progress" if you will..
However, with that said, you do have a point about including Magma Jet , and I've even made a small adjustment accordingly..

I think your should take out the Rakdos Guildgate s and Temple of Malice s out entirely, i was testing with a deck like this, and drawing a guild gate can slow you down a ton.
