Two new additions to the deck: Plaguecrafter and Midnight Reaper are upgrades over the two cards they replaced (Merciless Executioner and Grim Haruspex). Unlike the Haruspex, Midnight Reaper will trigger himself when he dies. The 1 life lost is negligible in this life drain deck.

Have you considered Zulaport Cutthroat over Blood Artist? Zulaport hits each opponent instead of one, unless there's a reason you target one opponent, I usually play him over Blood Artist.

Have you considered Lifeline and/or Dawn of the Dead? Both might work well for what you are trying. I am trying to do something similar but slightly different with my Karlov Lifegain deck. Take a look in case you find some inspiration.
