It's an interesting format at the moment, with no one deck dominating.

At my LGS there are a lot of original brews, which I love.

Argy - Any better now. I added more creatures, and put Blessed Alliance into the sideboard.

There's a reason why I'm only using two of 4 and 5 drop Angels.

Might replace Sephara with another Elspeth.

Happy days.

Have you tested this against any of the decks in my Pioneer folder?

That's the best way for you to evaluate how this will go.

Mono Black Vampires and Azorius Control are different enough for you to get a sense of how it does.

Argy - I'll try that sometime. I've never digitally tested decks, but it looks like I'll have to. My former Magic buddy no longer comes over to kitchen table anymore. :(

I'll also enter local tournaments to see what the local meta is ATM, once I get the cards in the mail. Gisela was pricey.

She's pricey because she's good.

I would always wait until after thorough testing before investing in cards.

It can make a big difference adding or subtracting even one card from a build.

Argy - I might replace Shadowspear with another Heliod after I playtest the deck. If another Heliod is needed, then for sure, investing in it.

If I do, then I'll try to fit Shadowspear in the sideboard.

Maybe Dawn of Hope for drawing cards? I know white struggles with card draw, but you are a lifegain deck so it could be something to consider.

Interesting match report.

As I said '"Creature heavy decks are excellent in the current meta against aggro and control."

mikeb388 seriously, at least offer some feedback on a deck before posting a link to your own.

The people who put their decks up For comment want to hear what you think about their brew.

Argy - There was a mono red aggro deck there. I just didn't play against it. And someone quickly put together a rakdos combo deck of some sort, but I didn't play against that one either.

There were only six people playing in the tournament. It was the first time that they held a Pioneer tourney at the store. Hopefully more locals show up in two weeks.

Our Pioneer tourney waxes and wanes.

Sometimes 13 people there one week, then only 4 the next.

Some people are waiting to see what tier 1 decks will spring up.

Lots of combos available right now. If that ends up being THE style, and I can't beat them with a home brew, that will be the end of Pioneer for me.

It's my least preferred style to play against. So dull.

Argy - Yeah.

On a side note, a Modern card I used to run - when the deck was Modern - would have recked the graveyard matters deck.

Hopefully a card like that turns up in the next Core set. That or something that can stop combos from going off - even if I have to splash a color.

The next expansion might give us some nifty cards. I thinking it might be full of multicolored variations. Who knows. Wizards hasn't spoiled anything, and new Theros is still fresh.

Argy - A few other people were at the LGS curious about what was going on. Perhaps more people will show on the 15th.

You might want to look at Tormod's Crypt

My first Collector's Pack I open had an extended art version of new Elspeth! I had $32 in trade, so I got the pack and a soda. The employee there gave me a bonus four dollar pack for trading in cards he would sell fast.

Today is fucking awesome!

Just a thought, but might be worth throwing in a few divine Visitations. While it is a 5 drop white enchantment, it turns all new creature tokens into 4/4 Angels with flying and vigilance. Pairs great with Bishop of wings for infinite angel tokens. So if you can find a sac outlet, it will turn any buffer like heliod or archangel of thune I to true terrors.

The deck is now complete. Just got Heliod alt art and four clue tokens yesterday.

Hi all,

Love the deck! If you’re looking to add creatures. Why not the following two adjustment: Ajani’s welcome -> daxos blessed by the sun

Path of bravery -> linden the steadfast queen.

I think i’m gonna try something similiar in pioneer. I’ll let you know if i have any results!

February 23, 2020 6:43 a.m.

HARDsofty says... #22

TheGunner - I have already swapped in the creatures I wanted to use. The deck before was running eight instants. Now I just need to play it against my local meta again. I couldn't last week because I was deathly ill.

Any further suggestions are welcome, and adjustments will be made where necessary.

Lone Rider  Flip seems like a good candidate here. Thoughts?

Should really consider mainboard Selfless Spirit. You only have 3x of a card in the 2 mana slot, and Selfless Spirit is going to stabilize your board against wipes. You can pretty easily cut 1x Elspeth and 1x Lyra and 1x Gisela and 1x Angelic Accord, which are all nice cards but you really don't want to see 2 of them in your opening hand

February 23, 2020 4:14 p.m.

HARDsofty says... #25

dingusdingo - Considering that now, but the card is expensive. My local meta is full of sac this minus down that against me though, so perhaps a few in the sideboard agaisnt attacks.

Haven't seen any board wipes thus far, but more and more people are getting into Pioneer.
