smleger - I've already used Entreat the Angels in this deck, but I replaced it with creatures. Light of the Legion looks promising. Don't know what to swap out for 'em. Maybe the Knight of Meadowgrain s.

As a sideboard consideration: Serra the Benevolent.

I'm probably only adding one copy of Serra the Benevolent to the mainboard in place of one Angelic Accord.

I ordered two Lyra Dawnbringer and two Resplendent Angel online. I am expecting them end of this week to early next week. I think I'm going to swap out the two Fiendslayer Paladin and the two Felidar Sovereign.

Let me know how my deck is fairing thus far and what other changes I should make to the deck.

Upvotes are also welcome if you think the deck is worthy!

Honestly, Gisela, the Broken Blade is a really solid angel at its cost. I'd contemplate a one-of Emeria, The Sky Ruin . That's how I've always run this type of thing.

Cards that only gain you life aren't terribly good in any format. Ghost lit redeemer is pretty underwhelming for that reason. Serra Ascendant or Giver of Runes would both do you more good in this type of deck. Also, this might be a bit less optimal, and you could definitely decide I'm flat out wrong on this one for sure, but Knight of the White Orchid could accelerate you to your bigger angels and such, Id think of putting one in in place of one of your take hearts and 2 in for 2 of your angelic accords maybe? For the same reason as removing redeemer might be good, Ajani's welcome could be replaced by any combo of Legion's Landing  Flip and Haazda Marshal . They will gain your life but also produce extra value.

The only reason I ripped on so many of the cards in here is that I actually really like the deck as a whole, and want to see a lifegain angels deck work well. I might use this as a template for my own deck.

Qolorful - Thanks for the criticism! I can use all the help I can get to take this from casual to competitive. Believe it or not, the deck used to be more enchantment focused. Now more creatures and instants are present as you can see. With the swapping in of Lyra Dawnbringer tomorrow and the addition of more Resplendent Angel today, I hope to have more tokens hit the battlefield. By the way, I'm getting another Field of Ruin sometime

Your sideboard doesn't seem that problem-solving. A couple of spot removal things are not a bad idea, but you should include cards that really put up a fight against unfair decks.

Like Stony Silence , Runed Halo and Rest in Peace .

If you're interested in modern lifegain decks that can hold their own against other competitive decks, I encourage you to look up Soul Sisters or Martyr Proc builds. Soul Sisters is a white weenie aggro/midrange deck with cards like Ajani's Pridemate and Martyr Proc is a midrange/control deck that recurs its creatures with Proclamation of Rebirth .

I don't see how this can hang with fast decks, such as infect that can get a turn two win. How do you defend against that, aside from mana tithe? Not a rhetorical question or anything, only just legitimately want to know your strat because it's quite easy to destroy any early blockers you may have and to give any attacking creatures protection on stack and get 10 infect usually turn 2 but almost always turn 3.

vladbaluta - This is a casual deck, and I haven't played Modern in a long time. I don't know the current meta, so any pointers are useful.

I just mostly collect and build/refine decks, by the way.

That's cool man, I like the idea a lot, I always wanted to try out a life link deck myself. I would encourage just more exiles/destroys or counters like mana tithe, even a destroy like dismember if you really need it as a sideboard. Other than that, it's just a matchup issue if anything. Cheers.

I think the curve is too high for a modern deck, but you might be able to put in some green ramp stuff instead of focusing on the lifegain.

how often do u use ghost lit redeemer's abilty cause u don't want to hold one mana back to do that when u can play other stuff plus most of your creatures are 3 mana or more and most of your other spells are as well. don't think it is a good fit.

mikeb388 I mostly would just use Channel to gain 4 life during an opponent's turn, so I can gain an angel token at the beginning of their end step. That's if Angellic Accord is on the battlefield. If I have Angel of Vitality and Resplendent Angel out then all the better angel token.

Hopefully that clears it up, since I wouldn't really put Ghost-Lit onto the field.

Thanks for the input!

I used to run that card, but replaced it with angels. Plus, I'm sure it's fine not running it. This deck is casual, so filling the board with chump blockers that can become real beaters is my priority with this deck.

Thanks for the comment!

I highly suggest running Solemnity in your sideboard for the infect match up.

ManicMayhem - good call! I don't know the current meta, and I haven't played Modern in over a year. Nowadays I am just improving upon builds. Deckcycling and featuring builds is how I get input from other players. Advice is always welcome, thanks.
