Ok so the only reason I didn't go 4-0 was because my deck was setup for strangleroot (land base) but a last min change to deathrites was made

1st round- jund aggro vs something terrible w/ mill

1st and 2nd match ::I pretty much was being milled and then deathrite came out and he had no removal so I stomped him pretty bad . Even though he played a couple creatures I just killed them and that's that .

Results:: 1-0-0 wins 2-0-0 matches

2round- jund aggro vs red/ blue something new (idk the name )

1st match:: I was mana screwed and he detentioned sphered my only creatures on the board so he beat me with a swift come back from 1life :/

2nd match:: yet again mana screwed and I just scooped after 5turns .

Results:: 1-1-0 wins/loss/draw. 2-2-0 matches

3rd round- jund aggro vs golgari

1st match: I pretty much was mana screwed yet again and lost. 2nd match: I finally had some normal mana (shock lands) come out and beat him 5th turn :) 3rd match : I killed him even faster with aggro removal and it was easy . Goddamn I wish I would've had the land to fix my mana base before fnm started .

Results:: 2-1-0 wins/loss/draw. 4-3-0 matches

Round 4.... To make it simple he had alot of control and couldn't finish the second game off before I swung in for the kill . Kinda sucked drawing becuz if I went 3-1-" I would've been in 2nd place to the guy who went 4-0 :/ alwell.

Final was :: 2-1-1wins/loss/draw. 5-4-1 matches

So now that deathrite is in here full swing and my mana base is much better il be just fine for the Grand Prix and all I'm aiming for is 8th place something more realistic .

It seems like getting a turn two Strangleroot Geist or Ash Zealot is very unlikely, so they don't seem ideal. Also Cavern of Souls seems bad with all those different creature types. Flinthoof Boar , Rakdos Cackler , and 2 Mountain s can be replacements.

Cavern mana fixes and I haven't had any problems with my mana so far . There was one time that I couldn't drop strangle root 2nd turn but that average is now 1/7 also I've considered taking out strangleroot for the boar but undying is pretty aweoMe . Thank you for the advice though def appreciated .

Sorry not to be rude, but how does cavern mana-fix when you have 6 different creature types in the deck. (Not including cards that share at least one type)

I playtested your deck multiple times checking for games in which I couldn't play Strangleroot Geist or Ash Zealot . One game you had to use Cavern of Souls to get the geist out which would ruin the mana for future cards. Another game you played no two-drops on turn two because you missed the double-red for zealot. Another game you couldn't play the geist until turn four, you could play a knight of infamy on turn two though. Last game you had another geist in hand that couldn't be played on turn two, so you missed your two-drop yet again.

Imo I believe those three cards to be way to inconsistent, but that's just me.

Hey! This is a very good deck with a few minor mana problems, most of which others have already pointed out.

First, you have too many two-drops and not enough three-drops. Your deck will simply play more efficiently in terms of mana maximization if you fix this.

Second, while I do not doubt your experience with the two-drops, it is definitely skewed. You should miss having two of the same mana of any given color close to 30% of the time, roughly twice as often as you have experienced. This seriously limits the use of Ash Zealot and Strangleroot Geist .

Finally, your mana base is a little off (you have an overabundance of black mana production),and Cavern of Souls is not the right card to fix it, as you're unlikely to use it for colored mana more than once in a game.

Good luck! I think this deck is very promising. +1

Also, why not Dreadbore instead of Ultimate Price ?

Ultimate Price can take out a Hellrider or Thundermaw Hellkite right away before it smacks you in the face. It also takes out the likes of Sublime Archangel before its ability can be used to their advantage. Lots of good reasons to run it Main

parasitian: When you're right, you're right. I was just agreeing/rephrasing your advice, I guess. This deck is likely stumble on itself until the third turn, which is a problem with a lot of haste decks IMHO.

I think you might be better off going with a two-color deck and limiting the haste theme a bit, as the mana base problem is so intractable in this deck. Anyway, good luck again!

Ok guys thankyou I took out the strangleroots and added deathrite Shamans because they are amazing less problems with mana etc. also ultimate price took the angel that's produce by Geist of saint Traft and thundermaw and hellrider and every other card that was mono colored at fnm tonight . I actually did really well with a mana curve since I couldn't fix it at fnm I went 2-1-1 :) which I'm proud of since I thought i would do worse . tuberculosis parasitian thankyou for the advice it really helps and I'm sure I'm going to do really well at the grand pri with this :)z . Thanks again

Deathrite Shaman is amazing, forgot to suggest him. I think your deck seems pretty good right now. There could be some minor tweaks, but otherwise seems good. Good luck in the Grand Pri.

Thankyou and +1 if you like the deck. :)

Consider Hellrider + Kessig Cagebreakers + Fervor

If it's not a fit, it's ok, just a snap thought.
