Pantlaza, Sun-Favored

Legendary Creature — Dinosaur

Whenever Pantlaza, Sun-Favored or another Dinosaur enters the battlefield under your control, you may discover X, where X is that creature's toughness. Do this only once each turn. (Exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card with that mana value or less. Cast it without paying its mana cost or put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom in a random order.)

It's a pretty relevant distinction on cards such as Pantlaza, Sun-Favored. You can always choose which dino it triggers on if you somehow happen to now what you want to discover into.

GeminiSpartanX on Volrath, Voltron Reanimator

Profet93- I'm mostly trying to make it as consistent as possible while still giving homage to my commander's strengths. I know there are better reanimator commanders out there, but Volrath was one of the first legendary creatures I ever played with and as such, has a special place in my heart. In the previous version, I was just focusing on having the biggest cmc black and colorless cards in MtG and trying to swing in with him for the win, but it was too easily disrupted and the ramp wasn't enough to get there just by playing 1 fattie a turn otherwise. I figured the reanimation package will keep me in the game longer and make this deck more than a one-trick pony. I'm simply looking to cut the weakest cards from the list to keep up with the other powerful decks I normally play against (Tergrid, God of Fright  Flip, Be'Lakor, the Dark Master, Pantlaza, Sun-Favored, Edgar Markov, and Kaalia of the Vast).

leon_bulminot- This deck is not a 'sac' or aristocrats deck, so unfortunately some of your suggestions won't fit the bill here. My Kozilek is there to keep me from getting milled out against people who run infinite mill combos, and LotV is great at allowing me to discard a beefy guy from my hand to reanimate afterwards. The others Lilys are nice, but I actually cut a few tutors already to try and speed up the deck as too many tutors in a non-combo deck slow things down by paying extra mana for the cards you need, and this deck has enough ramp under 4 cmc that lily of the dark realms just barely didn't make the cut.

If the other person needs to see rules, the most important rule is this one:

400.7. An object that moves from one zone to another becomes a new object with no memory of, or relation to, its previous existence. This rule has the following exceptions... [What follows is a list of 12 exceptions needed to make various types of zone-change specific effects to work in the expected way. None of the exceptions apply to this example.]

In your initial example, the Pantlaza that re-enters the battlefield from exile has nothing to do with the Pantlaza that left the battlefield earlier. The triggered ability on the new Pantlaza is a totally separate ability from the one on the old Pantlaza. If it was meant to track what's been done with the abilities from any Pantlaza then it would need to be specifically written to reference "sources named Pantlaza, Sun-Favored", kind of like Cogwork Grinder and other effects that need to track information about cards that can't always be distinguished from one another as distinct objects. This concept also covers the token copy interaction in your other example.

I need to resolve a ruling dispute regarding Pantlaza, Sun-Favored's "do this only once each turn" clause. So Pantlaza triggers on a Dino entering the battlefield, and discovers X. If I flicker Pantlaza with Ephemerate, will Pantlaza be able to trigger again the same turn upon a second Dino ETBing? As I understand it, after being flickered, Pantlaza will be an entirely new permanent, and therefore will be able to trigger again. Will that hold true, or does the wording somehow mean once is once, no matter if it's flickered or if another copy of Pantlaza is triggering as well?

As always, thanks in advance!
