Hey there Tappedouters! We here at Tappedout have been a bit busy with things so unfortunately we forgot to do the player of the month for August, a problem that I am remedying now. This month there is a split prize.
So what do they win Bob
Well thanks to yeaGO and our partners at Cool Stuff Games, each of these two players will be receiving a $50 gift certificate to www.coolstuffgames.com! Please enjoy, buy some cards, build a deck, you know...do that stuff that magic players do.
As an additional prize that I started in July, the winners get the honor of being represented in cards designed by me. So exciting!!! (sarcasm)
Who are the winners
The players of the month are both very active in comments in general but have made a special mark on the sight for not only answering tons of questions of the Q & A, but also for raising the bar on the quality of answer. Both of our winners have been known to use many rule quotes to answer the questions in the Q & A. I have learn much from them. So let me stop rambling, here are the winners.
#Rhadamanthus | # Epochalyptik |
So after a bit of research, I found that Rhadamanthus is the son of Zeus and Europa, that after death became a punisher of the dead as described in the Aeneid, leading us to believe that he resided in Tartarus. However, there are other texts that intricate a very similarly named individual as a Judge of the dead in Elysium. I chose to go with the Tartaric version in this card | So I had to change the name from Epochalyptik to Epochalyps since adjectives are difficult as names of cards. An Epoch is a time period, similar to an era or eon, so I wanted a time element to the card. And apocalypse is one of many names for the end of days or a great disaster, so I added a component of mass destruction to this card. In the end it is very similar to, but less harsh that, Last Chance or Final Fortune. |
Hope you guys like the cards.
And now to go along with the article I have a ruling to state for myself.
Rule: 1010.2.35g - When a tappedout user has a handle that is over seven characters long, I am allowed to say the handle anyway I choose in me head. (Example - Rhadamanthus in my head is changed to Razmataz, whenever I see his activity.)

Oh jam! Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. =)
Heh, and it's kind of embarrassing that this morning I ended up posting an inaccurate answer in Q&A because I rolled out of bed and didn't read the question correctly...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the honor.
On a side note, it would seem that my card incarnation really likes Sundial of the Infinite .

As someone who has been extremely active in the Q&A for some time, I appreciate both Rhadamanthus and Epochalyptik's efforts to a great degree.
Congratulations to both of you, it was more than deserved. Keep up the top quality work.

Congrats dudes!
In Q&A, you always know that it is a safe bet to trust the answer posted by a name in all red!! Well done, and yes I would use Epoch's card with the sundial ;)

Nice job guys, truly deserve it.
Lol, I can't even answer a question in the Q&A anymore before one of these two get to it.

I just realized I think they picked Red because its the only color that really shows up well on the Answerer page on the Q&A in the green box. How clever!

To be honest, that was part of my reason. And I chose my particular shade because I didn't want the same shade of red as Epochalyptik, because that's his shade of red, and he should be unique.

Congrats to the winners!
On an off-topic note, I'm dying to know how squire1 pronounces my screen name. And, will I be banned for mentally pronouncing his "squirrel"?
September 22, 2011 6:54 p.m.
Squirrels are cool, you may get an immunity from banning for that XD
September 22, 2011 6:58 p.m.
You would not be the first to do so. It is actually "squire one". Originally it was just "squire" but that leads to this Squire

Like the Fender sub-brand 'Squire'.
That card looks like a fairly old printing, it would do well for you squire1 , I recall you go all the way back to Beta Set? You should pop that on your profile page and continue with the trend... so far I believe theemptyquiver, Rhadamanthus, Epochalyptik, yeaGO! and KrazyCaley all have cards.
I think I'm gonna struggle to find one or make one with 'weterr'
:D

Keep up with super active participation and you may get your own card one day. Actually there are a few more players that have them out the but they are being released in the future. They were designed for the rest of the community set design team.
Also yes I have been around since alpha or beta ish.
And yes the handle comes from the sub brand squire. It was the first bass I ever owned.
But this is about the winners not me.
Congrats again guys!
september's winner coming soon.
