What counts as an activated ability for Phyrexian Revoker?

Asked by udoomu 10 years ago

I was just wondering what non land cards you could disable with Phyrexian Revoker. Thanks!

First, link all cards in your question.
Phyrexian Revoker

An activated ability is any ability written in the form "[cost]: [effect]," where the cost and the effect are separated by a colon.

Examples of activated abilities:
Llanowar Elves 's ability
Sol Ring 's ability
Knight of the Reliquary 's second ability
Marsh Flats 's ability
Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief 's second ability
Jace, the Mind Sculptor 's four abilities

Just to simplify it as much as possible, you can basically just look for a colon. If the ability has a colon, it's an activated ability. If not, it isn't!

Note that for some activated abilities the "Cost : Effect" templating may be boxed up inside a keyword ability rather than being written out on the card. Sometimes this is included in reminder text, but not always. Two good examples of this include Equip (Fleetfeather Sandals , Ghostfire Blade , etc.) and Outlast (Disowned Ancestor , Herald of Anafenza , etc.)
