If a Creature with regenerate(Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni) is sacrificed(think Bone Splinters or Fleshbag Marauder can I regenerate it in response or is it illegal to regenerate for a sacrifice?

I am just curious if this would be a "free" cost or potentially a way to survive the "Annihilator" of cards like It That Betrays. Any help would be wonderful.

Regenerate does not stop sacrificing. Sacrificing is not a destruction effect, so it is not affected by the replacement ability of regeneration.

That's what I thought but I was just seeing if it would work. Thanks so much for the swift answer.

Also, Annihilator (and sacrifice in general) can only be stopped by Sigarda, Host of Herons, Tajuru Preserver, and Assault Suit. Assault Suit more helps against effects like Barter in Blood though, since it cannot stop you from having to sacrifice your non-equipped permanents.

Yeah I have seen those 3 cards around(and use Assault Suit but was just curious if regenerate was another way to slip passed it. I wasn't expecting it to but was just trying. The way sacrifice works coupled with it's recent uptick in cards that force it make it incredibly dangerous and difficult to circumvent. But then again there in lies its appeal and power. Again thank you so much.
